Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I decided for the sake of my joints to put an "easier" day in between BFBM and a double Shred session. I went with Ellen Barrett's Skinny Sculpt which is her new "Studio" release. Mind you, I am extremelly biased about Ellen's workouts (I love them!) and Skinny Sculpt did not disappoint me. It is different from Slim Sculpt - both less and more challenging somehow. For Slim I tend to use 3's (maybe 5's for some of the moves) for Skinny I had 2's and that felt about right given the range of motion used and the combination of movements in each exercise. Often you work upper/lower together. I think my HR gets higher in Slim Sculpt, but Skinny was challenging in a different way, perhaps in a more "muscular" way. There wasn't anything I really didn't like about the workout - the moves transitioned nicely into one another. It did not feel boring or repetitive. I really enjoyed the floorwork segment of bridges and core work. And, I really felt that each movement had a flexibility as well as a "strengthening" component to it. Some of it acutally felt a little Classical-stretch-ish to me. After Ellen I did 15 min on the bike and 15 min on the Treadmill for some extra cardio. Tomorrow I face Shred 2 & Shred 1 combined. I'm doing 2 first this time, as it is more difficult so it may be better to do the hard part first. Last time I did 1 first - that had its virtues too as it warmed me up for 2! I'm really feeling good about this Jillian rotation - and I have to say my glutes are sore in all the right places - feel like they're getting "activated" (I'm working ont hat myself during the day by trying to be more conscious of engaging everything that needs to be engaged at all times!)Hope everyone has a good Day!Donna
