Guest guest
Her levels are not high enough. They have to reach a certain level in her body to stabilize her mood. It takes awhile. Guest guest
Why is it that every time there are bad reactions to meds, the docs always say they don't think it is related?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went on Celexa once and the first day I was driving and had a bad panic attack. I went back and screamed at my dr. (to this day 7 yrs later, I can't drive on highways or at night) - why did you not warn me?!!!. He said, oh there is no way that could be related -- well okay on all the labels it says do not drive until you know how the medication will effect you. I did not know that (I thought just for sleeping pills, etc) and of course, if something like that happens for the first time while taking a new med, it certainly is med related!!! Why are they so opposed to admitting it! citymomgina <gwrigh7@...> wrote: We've had something similar. When my son was 9 he was put on Trileptal to make his mood more stable. He hadn't been diagnosed with OCD yet, but he had many symptoms of it already. The trileptal made his OCD symptoms much worse. The doctor added Lexapro for that, which left him confused and with word finding problems (couldn't remember the word he wanted to say). We had to take him off the Trileptal. The doctor didn't think it was related, but you might check with yours and see what they say, and to come up with a plan to stop taking it if that's what you are going to do. We had used depakote before for seizures, it didn't seem to affect him that way, but he wasn't having OCD symptoms at the time. It certainly didn't make his mood more stable either. (but, it did cure the seizures) I think the mood problems may be more anxiety related in my son's case. > > Just wondering if anyone else had this. Guest guest
Most SSRI's can cause and increase in anxiety (some more than others) upon starting them. Trileptal can make people very loopy. I didn't realize how bad I was until I went off of it. I haven't decided whether it's worse than vomiting. I get that from most anti- emetics except for Zofran. Sometime I get it from my Seroquel, but Benadryl does help. Guest guest
Akathesia is a horrible feeling that you constantly have to move your arms or legs or both. It's a " crawly " feeling. That's the best I could describe it. It's like you can't stop moving, but even while you are moving, you are still really uncomfortable. I had an epidural when I had my c-section, and i had this reaction to Reglan, which I had been given for nausea. Even though I was paralized, I STILL had that feeling! Guest guest
My son said he just had to pace, he couldn't sit down. I tried having him run up and down stairs a bit, but it didn't help. After the benadryl he said he felt less irritated, and not as much like moving constantly. He was so tired the next day though. He's back to himself now, thank goodness. > > > > > > Most SSRI's can cause and increase in anxiety (some more than > others) > > upon starting them. Trileptal can make people very loopy.
