Guest guest
i see that you mention omega three, im wondering if anyone out there has seen good results with this, and what doses you are using? ive been reading alot of good reports on using omega 3 for OCD and also for ADD and have started giving it to my son about 6 weeks ago. havent seen any results yet, although the pharmacist said it would take time. im also unsure about the dose to give him. anybody have an experience with this? thanks judy Re: ocd treatments besides medicine???? Hi Emarie, Well - therapy is the best treatment for OCD and med-free! Have you had a chance to read yet about CBT/ERP for OCD? (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and also Exposure & Response Prevention) CBT and ERP are the best treatment and long-lasting benefits, can give the person the tools needed to boss back OCD. With medication, there is no *one* medication that works for all. Same with alternative type treatments. Two things I can think of now to try, other than those mentioned already, are inositol powder (buy online, cheaper) and some note a bit of improvement with omega 3 (fish oil). Feel free to ask questions anytime, have to run now! > > I have only been on this group for a short time, but as I skim through > I am only noticing medicine used as treatment for OCD. Guest guest
Okay - So I go out and buy the Omega 3 capsules ($20 for a small jar) and go to give one to my 14 year old son this morning and he takes it down and starts gasping. The thing is so large that it lodged in this throat. He starts choking -I'm busy pounding on his back and giving him water but he still felt the thing in his upper abdomen all day. A lovely start to the day. Needless to say, I think this won't work for him! Guest guest
We use the chewables. It is also available in a liquidy form that you can eat from the package. Orange flavor. The capsules left me with a fishy burp all day. Ben will take the chewables, though they taste kind of bad.
