Where they are from is irrelevant. They were not rude or leveling personal attacks.

I do not consider this a win, but an unfortunate necessity dictated by your actions.

Okay, on second thought, maybe I shouldn't have been so quick to just

send off my first reaction - but honestly I don't know why the same

positions must be repeated over and over again - obviously both sides

disagree and are not going to agree...

I came to this list because I thought it was about AS and I understand

people with AS have special interests and obsessions and some of those

might surround politics - but if this continues, I can't see how it

will produce a supportive and safe atmosphere for discussion of the

issues that we do share in common.

I understand that one of the traits of AS is ego-centrism. You seem

to be the self(?)-appointed " expert " in all topics. When anyone asks

a question, you are right there to say how the subject has been dealt

with from your perspective as if yours was the only accurate

response. You seem to have done it all and know the answers to

everything. What is your education in? What do you do for a living?

What is your background? (and don't go off saying I am attacking you

as an excuse to not respond. I believe you have attacked me more-so

by belittling my thoughts)

I find it arrogant on your part to deem anyone's thread " closed. "

Especially when someone from Belgium speaks up and says that what I

have brought up has been presented in documentaries in their country

on this subject. They also said that they have been following this

thread with interest.

If you have no interest in this thread, then don't read/reply to it.

I feel I have been respectful to your superior knowledge of history.

I feel that you have not been the same with me and my background in

engineering. Your confusion between kinetic/stored energy and

inertia shows your lack of knowledge in the subject just as my

foolish comments on Lincoln freeing the slaves showed my lack of

knowledge of American History.

I have posted a request from others outside North America for their

comments on this subject. This thread is open to all who may answer.

I feel autistic within this group. It seems that there are social

rules here that I can not get a grip on, or understand well enough.

Also lurking did not make me learn more about how this group works.

So I will leave this group.

Thank you for those with interesting posts.

I see how people who come here " to cause trouble " are dealt with.

Causing trouble=disagreeing with the moderator (I never saw the

word " Moderator " or " administrator " ever mentioned with 's

name). I, too feel there are rules here that are unfair. The one I

have learned is that some are omnipotent and everyone else is wrong.

I guess this is why there are so few who are posting here in

comparison to other groups I belong to. So, yoeran, I will probably

be following you soon... (I wonder how many have precedded you?)

You don't get it, , do you. He is leaving because of your

rules. You can't deal with being wrong.

You won't want yoeran to stay, . This is the person from

PS, Raven, if you would send me the information you were speaking of

in your post, you can e-mail me direct. I would be happy to read

what you send....that is if the " moderator " doesn't delete my

information...

You bend the rules to your own benefit when someone points out you

are wrong.

So far, no one has left the boards. You are free to leave if you

wish.

See, you are wrong again! Yoeran just left!

I came to this board because I was told that it might be a safe place

to hang out with other aspies... unfortunately this particular

discussion was getting so heated and personal it was disrupting the

atmosphere and I feared maybe this is just like other boards. I was

going to not say anything and just watch, but I couldn't help it and

posted.

When stepped in and ended the the thread, and then pointed out

that personal attacks are not welcome I truly felt safer here.

I have been on sites where moderators let bullies rule the roost and

it's not fun... it feels like the playground in grade school all over

again.

I don't fear being moderated because I speak with civility as much as

I can. (though I am blunt and might get intense now and again)

If you have not left yet and have the time, look back a few pages and

see that I have disagreed with Tom and Raven on an issue regarding Top

Model. However, despite a misunderstanding, and hurt feelings (on my

part anyway) it ended peacefully. That was because neither side felt

the need to continue belaboring the point and both sides were civil.

There may come a time when I disagree with on something, but

from what I've seen, so long as I remain civil I don't think he'll

have a problem with it.

, I've found several of the topics you've brought up interesting,

it's just that this one was going on too long. The fact that you went

on so long and were never prohibited, and some just left the argument

should prove to you that dissent is allowed without consequence.

However, what disturbs me the most is that you are acting as if the

WAY you talk to people is a right as much as what you say and now that

you have been warned you're going on a victimization rant.

I've been warned many times on other boards for things I thought were

unfair, sometimes I whined about it, sometimes I just took my lumps.

What I learned is that if someone is the moderator, in the end, for

your own sake and for the sake of the community, you either have to

live with their decisions and stick by the rules... or leave.

Dragging things out is just messy, hard on your nerves and the

moderators nerves, and not helpful for the purpose of the community.
