I'm also in the camp of I can't stand the taste of diet soda!! :) Once in awhile, I will have a real coke, but even that is rare these days. I mostly stick with water or, if I feel like something fizzy I have a seltzer either with or without a splash of fruit juice in it.

I have a really sensitive mouth and think I have allergies to the chemicals in soda - diet soda in particular. My mouth actually breaks out in a rash if I have artifical sweetners. It is weird. Regular soda does it, too - so it must be something else, too - but the effects aren't as severe with the regular. I am also bothered by the sulfates in toothpastes and can only use natural toothpaste - otherwise it is like the inside of my mouth gets totally rashy! Weird, but I guess in a way healthy b/c it keeps me away from sodas!!

nancy, decided a while back to cut out artificial food from my diet --when it is possible. fast food is on the hit list, too. the salt and junk in that stuff--a burger, fries and diet coke gave me a headache!! don't need it...it isn't as tasty as the sunburgers i've been eating for lunch at home. trying to get real with real food:) our bodies know the difference--it is the difference between survive and thrive. do you want to give up the diet coke? 1 a day seems reasonable:) if you enjoy it.stacey>> I can't imagine diet coke not tasting good! I just started a self-imposed diet coke restriction today though. Yesterday, trying to find ways to save money now that Miriam has

started orthodontic treatment ( already is in it) I added up how much I spend a month on diet coke and realized I could cut almost $30 off my monthly grocery bill if I cut myself down to 1 or less per day (from 3 or 4). Today I had one in the morning (I don't do coffee) and was dying in mid-afternoon but didn't have one. I only had one more in the evening because I went out with friends and got one at the restaurant (I ate dinner at home) and one of my girlfriend's bought that one for me as a thank you for being her daughter's Brownie leader! I purposely only put one in the fridge for tomorrow too because it will keep me from drinking more (I won't drink warm diet coke unless I am super desperate). I realized today how much of a habit it is for me to pop one open at various times of day, whether I really wanted one or not. I do get lots of water in most days too but often I'll go for a diet coke instead of water even though I know full well the

water would be much more helpful for me. This isn't going to be easy but maybe I'll get to a point where diet coke doesn't taste good either! > > > > > Re: Judy / been a bit naughty> > > > laura and judy,> i would like to lose 6 pounds by july 30. i know it will happen if i eat more zuchinni pasta and only eat the regular kind as a treat (i never thought i would consider spaghetti a treat, lol). trying to control my intake of bread products--pretty successful with this lately. had a diet coke yesterday and to tell the truth i don't even

care for the taste of it anymore--just drinking water, san pelligrino, or iced tea is good enough. i saw a recipe for tea ice cubes which i may make soon--would taste good in seltzer or mineral water.> stacey>
