Headaches and bloating are signs of detoxing.

I would suggest you cut back on the amount of KT you are having, and gradually

increase it as your body allows it.

I would also suggest you drink more water to support your body through the

detox. This will allow your body to release the toxins more easily and keep

your body properly hydrated.

Subject: Side effects of Kombucha

I have been getting headaches quite often lately and I suspect the

Kombucha is causing them. Has anyone had this side effect? I hope it's not the

Kt because I really enjoy it!

I also think Kt is causing stomach upset...bloating and generally not feeling

very well. I'm beginning to wonder if I should stop drinking it.

Any thoughts?

Yes, of course you should stop drinking it. Wait a week and see if the symptoms

stop. If they do, you can start drinking the Kombucha again... if the symptoms

come back, Kombucha is a prime suspect. Kombucha may be wonderful, but

everyone's body is different. Not everybody should be drinking Kombucha. Its

just like anything else in life. You are unique - treat your body as such. At

least - that's my opinion.

Hi Sandy,

I have read that 17 days of fermentation is sufficient to process all of the

sugar in kombucha however by then it will probably taste like vinegar. I say

probably because once II got a batch that tasted like white wine instead of

vinegar but don't know why and have not been able to reproduce that effect.

Hi ,

You can definitely get some side effects from drinking too much kombucha or

rather from drinking kombucha in place of water. Most people don't drink

enough water and that is typically a huge culprit for your symptoms. I can

usually tell right away when I didn't need a glass of kombucha because it

will cause some fogginess in my head and may cause my stomach to cramp too.

When usually it lifts me energetically all over...

I try to gauge my kombucha intake with my food intake. x amount of food

allows for x amount of kombucha. So, we could all probably use an extra

glass of KT this time of year. But kombucha is not water... hope this helps!

Cheers,

aandi in Chicago

Thanks for everyone's responses about the side effects of KT. It might be that

I'm not drinking enough water...I'm trying to do better with that.

I've been drinking KT since Sept., so I expected that I wouldn't have bad

effects anymore, ya know? I started out drinking a little...4 oz per day. Now

I drink about 2 cups per day.

Thanks again!

Hi ,

For awhile at least, it might be helpful to reduce the amount of Kombucha you

are drinking and increase the amount of water.

depending on what your body is dealing with that may be too much, for me it

would be. I have yet to go over 3/4 of a cup with out having headaches and

other things, but if I back off is better. My friend how ever can drink two

cup at each meal and be ok, its all very individual.
