Guest guest
If you use a coffee filter to filter kombucha (which never really made difference for me), PLEASE consider using a non-bleached filter! Remember that kombucha leaches toxins, etc. And heaven knows *what* chemicals they use to bleach that paper... I don't worry so much about using a plastic funnel, as the liquid rolls off the surface quickly. But when you pour the liquid thru the paper, it wets down the filter immediately. And since it takes longer for the kombucha to " filter " thru the paper, that means more time in contact, when the kombucha permeates the bleached filter. Just a thought, albeit perhaps paranoid! For next batch u could strain out starter liquid, with a coffefilter, i use cheesecloth folded up many times..how are you doing?? peace..jahjet
Guest guest
True True!! I only use organic filters, when i use any at all, I use cheese cloth tried and true, and since and wash in hot water with no chemicals by hand i prefer that, but it is less work with plastic.. and i shall buy me one..soon!
