will speak at Philadelphia FIGHT’s 13th Annual HIV Prevention and Outreach Summit on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center as part of AIDS Education Month. The day-long conference set to begin at 8:30 AM and conclude at 5 PM will bring together HIV prevention workers, city agency representatives, youth and faith-based organization leaders, people living with HIV, and concerned members of the community. Based on attendance in past years, over 1000 individuals are expected to attend. Workshops will be offered on HIV research and domestic policy, HIV-related issues facing women, the LGBT community, the Latino community, youth, and sex workers, and a variety of other topics. AIDS Education Month has been organized every June by FIGHT since 1994. Now in its 18th year, AIDS Education Month features the prison reentry summit, a youth summit, and an HIV prevention summit as its key

activities. Volunteer presentations in communities throughout the city, special events for target populations, and major outreach to encourage all Philadelphians to get tested for HIV also take place during AIDS Education Month. Over 10,000 individuals are directly reached by FIGHT’s efforts every June. This year’s AIDS Education Month is co-chaired by GALAEI and the Philadelphia Prison System with Philadelphia District Attorney Seth serving as the month’s honorary chairperson.
