Guest guest
Soooooo impressed Woman! Great job!!!!I wear bionic gloves when working with kettlebells. I tried to let my hands be and let them tougen with callasuses, but it didn't work. Using a heavier bell makes them hurt VERY bad. So with that said, the sweat doesn't phase me. And FWIW, you can get Bionic gloves for HALF off right now! I ordered two more pair. I'm a sucker for a sale.. (especially clearance). Guest guest
Hi .....just popped in to read the e-mails and saw your question about squats. I do ATG squats all the time now, with NROLFW I'm doing barbell squats with a total weight of 100lbs, 3 sets of 10, and they are all full squats. I find that its easier on my knees to do full squats rather than parallel squats. I love how strong they make me feel and I've been increasing the weight almost every workout, I only weigh 105lbs so I'm pretty close to squatting my own weight. If you google a guy named Mark Rippetoe you can read about the science of "full" squats. Let me know what you think after you read what he has to say, he has some really good You Tube videos about squats and deadlifts as well. Take care. Guest guest
Hey ....ATG is ass to grass/ground depending on which term you prefer LOL.....NROLFW is New Rules of Lifting for Women which is the program I'm doing at the moment, and loving it!!! My barbell weighs 10 pounds and I load it with 2 x 25, 2 x 15 & 2 x 5's. My next workout I'll be changing the 2 x 5 to 2 x 10 and squatting 110lbs, which is my goal at the moment, I've also increased my deadlift to 120lbs, which is currently as high as I care to go. Form tends to slip if I go any heavier, so I'm going to focus on doing more reps instead of increasing weight. Did I say that I really LOVE this program!!!!! Take care. Take care. I find that its easier on my knees to do full squats rather than parallel squats. Guest guest
LOL...it is much easier on my knees, it was kettlebells that started me doing them that way as well. I had never used a barbell before NROLFW either, I'd always used DBs, but I found it easier to do full squats with the weight on my shoulders. It just seems more natural for me to squat deeply, keep everything tight and power back up than to just go to parallel which puts more stress on your knee joints. I think you'll enjoy the program, its actually nice to not workout with DVDs for a change, for strength anyway, I still do my DVDs for the cardio, but I am really feeling good with this program.
