Might it be possible to state how much of the expected programme he has actually had, what he should have had and what gains he has had with this limited programme.

They like facts and details

E.G

Total hours funded for VB  =  X

Actual hours of therapy supplied = Y

Gains and improvements in this time =Z

He has made gains Z having only received 26% of the provision that was funded ( or whatever the provision actually was) , and on this basis had he received 100% of the therapy it is reasonable to conservatively estimate that he could have made these gains too.

The provision of therapy has not been totally fulfilled, and its inconsistency in delivery may too have resulted in less than full gains being realised. We wouldvery much like to have a full year of provision of this therapy funded so that we can extrapolate the gains which we have noticed from such a partial provision of therapy this year for the mutual benefit of the school, county and of course my child.

Best of Luck

I just realised we have a funding review next weeek for 's VB programme.I had the LEA here yesterday and voiced my concerns but next week will be a whole different thing as this programme is worded as " subject to review " for the funding.

I can't go in and say it's going well when he has had barely any therapy at all but at the same time if I don't say he is making good progress then they are within their rights to pull the funding!Everyone is going to be there, all the money bods from County, plus EP, headmaster, teacher, statementing officer, Speech therapist and the Provider.

Any verbal discussions I have had with the LEA yesterday could be totally meaningless.Anyone got any suggestions?Vicky

I agree with Tracey, any quantifiable improvement, positive responses or new behaviours is worth noting compared with the actual QUALITY therapy that he received, ie, not the therapy where he was just going over mastered targets over and over because of the lack of adequate supervisory input.  I think this would be very helpful.
