Guest guest
Try store bought first and make sure you like them. I am milk intolerant hence my interest in water kefir. I tried coconut water kefir and LOVED it but at 7 something for only 8oz... once was enough... I was worried about cross contaminating but since Patti s been doing them and shes still alive!!! I'll check into ordering Kefir grains! She's got me drooling now! nn Re: Re: brewing vessel yes they have the 2 gallon size too... cant remember how much though but I bet they are reasonable! Guest guest
Try Whole Foods that's where I first discovered Coconut Water Kefir but yes I agree if you like KT yer safe! I should also try Goat's Milk... the breakfast smoothies does sound good!... mmm what about rice milk? Almond milk... im not crazy about them but sometimes buy them for bakingmaking other stuff and have some left sitting in my ref! Sorry Im off the track and don't want to get in trouble so about Kombucha... Let's see... Heres a great link about cross contaminating between Kefir and Kombucha... www.happyherbalist.com and yer right.. I read somewhere that its ok as long as you keep them separated... like few feet apart! Lunch time (kale salad kale being highest on ANDI score) glass of KT... yum J Re: Re: brewing vessel yes they have the 2 gallon size too... cant remember how much though but I bet they are reasonable! Guest guest
I found mine by doing a google search.. I found this website that has an international exchange & the same person I got my scoby from had the kefir grains! Lucky! woohoo! I'll see if I can find it & send to y'all back channel. I do have a question about one of my brews. I bought a scoby off of ebay & it was very small. The instructions that came with it said to add some vinegar since it didnt have a whole lot of starter tea. I know that my first batch wont be very good so I plan to chunk it except for some starter. So the question is.........how long do I let this 1st batch brew?? Thanks, Patti ________________________________ From: " atonyathehun@... It was either walmart or order online anyway Rhonwyn From: patti <patti720@...> Subject: Re: Re: brewing vessel kombucha tea Date: Saturday, March 20, 2010, 9:37 AM  but if you are a single mom with children & ARE NOT RICH... you do whatcha gotta do to survive! sorry Patti ____________ _________ _________ __ From: " atonyathehun " <atonyathehun> kombucha tea Sent: Fri, March 19, 2010 6:24:47 PM Subject: Re: Re: brewing vessel Yeh, but walmart is a bad anti-union place that screws it's employees. Guest guest
You could use goats milk. I cant drink cows milk as i have IBS and it affects me. I can drink kefir made from cows milk. I think its lactose that kefir eats which causes the problems of most people that cant drink cows milk. www.simplytortoise.co.uk ________________________________ From: Velma Gallant <momtoeric@...> Kombucha Group <kombucha tea > Sent: Sat, 20 March, 2010 20:38:47 Subject: RE: Re: brewing vessel I've been curious about Kefir.
