I keep my scoby hotel in a large jar which once housed pickled onions, for example. Any glass you heat uniformly (immersing in the hot water you want) will not break. Breakages only occur when the temperature change is sudden and to just a part of the glass .... I also use ordinary glass bowls/glass vases (not crystal - just ordinary glass!). It's not a problem for me - I am not really fussy! ;-) Margret:-) not having a specific file either, but making it up as I go along! -- +------------------ Minstrel@... --------------------+ http://www.therpc.f9.co.uk/family/scobygrow/home.html http://bavarianminstrel.wordpress.com creation.com Rebellion against the Creator is the root of all suffering. Guest guest
Thanks Margret! i use ordinary glass myself..and they are great, but i have this glass convecion oven, and it is heat tempered, so i was wondering, if it could be used long term for a hotel..it would be great..i think i have to call the maker, Arcopal (France) the makers of Mikasa. This is a see thru convecion oven, nice and large, has i think 3 gallon capacity, and is encased in a removable stainless steel wire carrier.Well maybe best if i contact maker to be sure the FDA allows a very small percent of lead in but most manufacturers on the up and up pride themselves not putting the lead in. Thanks again, and any thoughts on this greatly apreciated.. Luv Jahjet > > > Dear Margret!I am hoping you will answer, i think u r there now!
