I've had many drains removed and I've never felt them coming out. I guess I'm blessed that way. Lord knows I've had enough OTHER complications in the past 19 years to make up for the pain I don't feel with those two things. -_______________________________________________- Laurie, Until you have experienced these, hold you opinions....I didn't think drains were bad as i remembered having them pulled with the RNY...But these were definately hellacious! When I saw the x rays I knew why....He puts them deep...Next to the place where the tummy was sutured and the intestines attached. That's why, because they aren't just there to drain fluid, but to look for blue dye or other problems from the internal suture lines. I didn't spike a temp or have a WBC spike from my leak because he had placed the drains in the most likely place and we were lucky that it was caught fast. It sucked any leakage material right up into the drain tube. Mine were in ...What? almost 4 weeks...So by the time they came out I think they had grown in place. It is a weird feeling and a deep pulling sensation that catches your breath that lasts about 30 second intense then eases by the second. The first isn't so bad, but the second one is rough knowing what is coming...LOL. Occasionally someone will say they aren't so bad, but I think it's pretty common for it to be " an experience " ...LOL. I say no matter, it was definately worth it. As far as hot on Sept...Some days it was hot in Dec, so I figure Sept is winding summer down and more hot than cool....LOL. Guest guest
Laurie....Some drains hurt and some don't...alot depends on the placement of those drains....my tummy tuck drains didn't hurt at all, they were shallow in the body....the DS drains felt like it was wrapped around my spinal cord and they pulled the stuffing out of me! Those drains are deeper, one is under the stomach and I swear I could feel the organs flopping around as the drains come out. Then on the other hand some people have had those drains pulled and it bothered them no more than my tummy tuck drains....either way, hurt like hell or no pain at all it's over with in a flash and sooo worth it. The Weather is pretty nice in September....the worse of the heat is gone. Usually low 90's/high 80's for daytime and low 60's/high 50's for night time. These next 6 months are going to fly and your surgery will be here before you know it! Jo

Guest guest
BAD JO!! September here usually sucks! You must live at a higher elevation then the rest of us!!! It is HIT here at least until later in the month! I don't remember EVER having a cool September! October? Yes, it gets nice.... But August and September have always been known as HELL months here! I agree thoughi, nights, (after 10 or so) it is usually pretty nice!!) It all depends on Mother Nature!!! Remember I lived in Tulare, 30 miles from Delano where we got 6 inches of snow every 30 years and 115 degrees in the summer!!!! Ray is used to anything from 102-117 out there on base with the heat of all the asphalt, the runways and the FA-18's taking off yards away! I hibernate during the summer and only come out in the winter, fall, and spring! Cindee (who hates heat!) > The Weather is pretty nice in September....the worse of the heat is > gone. Guest guest
> BAD JO!! September here usually sucks! You must live at a higher > elevation then the rest of us!!! I stand by my statement....July and August are blazing...September it starts to cool off and getting into the lower half of the 90's. Which after the high 90's and 100's feels pretty good. Also I didn't say Sept. 1st was wonderful...lol...which is still pretty much the tailend of August...lol. Heres what weather.com says Sept. Average high 90.1 degrees Average low 63.5 degrees Record high 9/3/55 112 degrees Record low 9/26/48 48 degrees So low 90's is average for the whole month of September. Beginning of September hotter than the end of September. Still Swimming weather, light cool cloths, runnning your AirConditioner......But nicer than July and August our hottest average months of the year. June starts to really heat up and September STARTS to cool down. Jo Lol...who am I kidding...90 anything is still darn hot.
