Guest guest
...when i feed my scobies, the tea is slightly still warm in the jars, I try to keep that temp from crashing in the first few days of cycle.. I do keep a little seedling heating mat in the cabinet, and even hang a blanket on the front, where it is glass and insulate cracks. Helps a little. I guess if you heat up the blanket initially it might help it is just insulation, keeps the heat in, but you need to have heat to begin with. They cant raise their body temperatures. Oh I was just reading that lotus flowers can.. amazing :0) > > From: Grossman <lr_grossman@...> > Subject: Question-balance > kombucha tea > Date: Sunday, October 17, 2010, 9:20 AM > > Hi, I hope this question comes out sounding a bit more coherent in what I am asking.Len Porzio site, no help.My KT takes just shy of 3 months to ferment.I have both vessels-big bowls, wrapped in sheets and blankets and one is surrounded by a downcomforter. My house is a bit on the cool side, but generally about 71 degrees.I think the coolness of my apt. And I'm thinking there is something really wrong with mytea choices. > I use about 6 T bags to the gallon, plus the usual 1.1/2 cups of sugar.I have been using between 3 black tea. 3 green/white Stash brand Infusion. The fizz to most would probably be considered non-existent. Me, I love the little zingI get.If I would do a batch of just green for each, one gallon fills nicely, would that speedthings up?Or, would experimenting with any of those teas as long as they are the prescribedtea suggestions, would that hurt any till I found some sense of a balance.I'm dying slowly from thirst. I'll keep trying till I get this right, whatever right might be. > Just need a few suggestions on others experiences. Thanks, > > > > >
