Guest guest
My cousin was down the end of last week for a couple of days to help with some house cleaning. Unfortunately, she brought her 10 year old son with her, as mentioned in the other post. As they were leaving, there were a number of bags upstairs that were full of old clothes to go to Good Will. At the top of the stairs, right next to my mother's bedroom door, is a box that she keeps there so she doesn't go down the stairs by accident at night when she goes to the bathroom. I was handling the bags and everyone else was downstairs. Cousin's son was standing at the bottom of the steps and cousin was around in the hall. The first bag I brought out got hung up on the box and it nearly went down the stairs with a couple of things falling off. Her son laughed, like people so annoyingly do when someone has trouble. I warned him not to laugh at me or I'd throw the bag at him. He laughed again, so I threw the bag down the stairs. Now, I wasn't trying to hit him solidly because the bag did weigh probably 20 or 25 pounds. He jumped out of the way and I might have clipped his arm like I planned. He complained to his mother, but she said that I gave him fair warning. The other lesson learned, maybe, was by my mother. Cousin's son was a real chatterbox who was always touching things. His mother at least would tell him to be quiet fairly frequently. My mother got a bit frazzled by this too. I told her that the way she felt about that was how I often felt when she was around trying to talk to me when I wasn't interested, which is a lot of the time. She probably didn't get it though.
