Guest guest
I thought about weaning and am prepared to do that, but yesterday I actually did not get the anticipated headache, though I was reeeeealllllly dragging mid-afternoon. I'm trying to figure out when is the optimal time to have my shot of caffeine and am experimenting with it by trying not to have one until either lunch time or on my way to work today. I'll see how things go today but if I do get the headache (which I've gotten before when I've tried doing this) then I'll do the weaning. Thanks Donna!!! Re: Judy / been a bit naughty laura and judy,i would like to lose 6 pounds by july 30. i know it will happen if i eat more zuchinni pasta and only eat the regular kind as a treat (i never thought i would consider spaghetti a treat, lol). trying to control my intake of bread products--pretty successful with this lately. had a diet coke yesterday and to tell the truth i don't even care for the taste of it anymore--just drinking water, san pelligrino, or iced tea is good enough. i saw a recipe for tea ice cubes which i may make soon--would taste good in seltzer or mineral water.stacey
Guest guest
I drink an occasional diet coke but prefer tea or seltzer water and juice. I am not too worried about caffeine as I don't drink or eat lots of it and the research is so mixed on it. I actually had diet coke yesterday for first time in about month and like someone else said - thought it tasted funny..They now have cold brew teas which I love.. mint and green tea is very refreshing pick me up in the afternoonFrom: <nancydewolf@...> Sent: Thu, June 10, 2010 7:23:30 AMSubject: Re: Diet coke challenge I thought about weaning and am prepared to do that, but yesterday I actually did not get the anticipated headache, though I was reeeeealllllly dragging mid-afternoon. Guest guest
I haven't been able to like green tea by itself. Perhaps mixed with mint it might be palatable. I'm kind of overwhelmed with school letting out tomorrow so I'm not trying anything new (besides this diet coke thing) for now but will keep this idea in mind. Thanks Judy! Guest guest
Hi , I used to drink 3 or 4 cans of Diet Coke too, I love the stuff! I'm trying to replace the diet coke with water, skim milk and green tea because it's healthier for me. I'm trying to get down to a can a day (I have a couple of times,) usually I drink 2 cans but some days I drink 3 or 4 cans. I think if we do this challenge together (maybe others will join?) it will help us to eliminate it from our diet.Good luck, Jen From: <nancydewolf@ sbcglobal. net>Subject: Re: Re: Judy / been a bit naughtyDate: Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 11:10 PM I can't imagine diet coke not tasting good! Guest guest
Hi Jen, I'm not sure I want to eliminate it yet, cutting down though is definitely a goal. I made it with 2 yesterday. Today I was going to do just 1. I waited until after 10 AM to have one but by 3 PM I had that horrible caffeine withdrawal headache and could not get rid of it even with ibuprofen. I finally gave in closer to 4 and had a 2nd one. Ahhh. Relief (or maybe the ibuprofen finally kicked in). Anyway, tomorrow the plan is to try doing only 1 but being open to two if I get the killer headache again. Two is really good for me though so I'll take it as a sign of progress. I wasn't craving it as much today, possibly because I was running around a lot. We'll see what tomorrow brings. Good luck to you too! Guest guest
Hi , I haven't been doing very well with cutting down on Diet Coke....some days I have 2 some days (like today) I have 3. I did drink more water today though which is good. I drank 2 12 oz bottles of water while I walked on my TM.... Guest guest
Doing okay. I decided to do 2 per day (that I pay for). Today I had 4 but 2 were at my friend's house so I didn't pay for the other 2. That was still very unusual for me lately. I've done one day in the last week that I had 3, one day just one and the rest 2. I went grocery shopping today and did not need to buy any because I had plenty left in the 24 pack I bought a week ago, that was great! I have been getting my water in most days too.
