Guest guest
HI Pat, I noticed in your letter that you said your Rheumatologist had patients flying in from Fla. and Mi. Do you know where in Michigan and for what they are being treated? Just curious.... ) Mi. Carmen

Guest guest
Hi C 2, No, your G.P. should be able to write you a Rx for another steroid. That is not considered being "specialized" in any way. I'd explain the whole rotten deal you got with your Rheumatologist and tell her that you need big time help !!!! It's your body and you want and need some help !! Aaaarrrrrgggghhhhh.......some doctor's are just so unbelievable !! Put your foot down.! Mi. Guest guest
Hi C2, Im not sure if your doc will give it to you or not but before I go on any vacation my rhemi gives me a medrol pac(like prednisone) to take with me. It has 6 pills one day then 5 the next etc and it gets me thru my vacation if I start to flare. I never leave without having one with me even if I dont use it. I now always have one on hand just incase he is on vacation and something happens to me then I can feel secure in knowing that I dont have to suffer and wait until he comes home..again this is just in case of emergency(like being away in Australia) although Im not sure how long your staying there it would get you over any rough times. It wont hurt to ask him. I cant remember where you live but my rhemi has patients that fly in to see him from Fl and Mi. Please take care and hopefully you will find someone that will " hear you " . love Pat from MA .. I'm so disappointed as I hoped to > get started on something a few weeks before setting off to Australia.

Guest guest
Thanks Pat, I'll call him. But I doubt he'll help as he doesn't want to try anything else until " something else occurs " . I can always try. love C 2 On 11 Nov 2003, at 23:45, chocluv20 wrote: > > Hi C2, > Im not sure if your doc will give it to you or not but before I go > on any vacation my rhemi gives me a medrol pac(like prednisone) to > take with me. Guest guest
Thanks, Pat, for replying to my letter. I shall ask my Rheumatologist if he has ever heard of Dr. Char. Birbara and I shall also tell him of the drug CTLA4IG. Some of us do well on the older drugs and some of us on the newer ones so I hope this new one has promise. Mi. Guest guest
Hi Carmen, Im not sure where in Mi, but when I was having my Remicade one of the people from MI was there also getting Remicade. I believe he had psorisis very bad and the Remicade has done wonders for him. He met my rhemi at a conference he went to hear about arthritis. My rhemi does a lot of studies on the new drugs for arthritis, he presently has a study going on for that new drug CTLA4IG. HIs name is Dr Birbara. He travels all over for talks on Arthritis. He is a firm believer to be aggressive at the onset of the disease so as to prevent deformity. If I see him again I will find out where he lives love Pat from MA Do you know where in Michigan and for what they are > being treated?
