Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I tried out the TM today and my calf was fine with it. It definately does remove a lot of the stress in the push-off b/c walking "regularly" on the ground, I can feel my calf strain, but on the TM it isn't there. the TM really does take some of the work out of walking and running. Now I see why I need to do more of that outside. Was actually contemplating doing the Couch to 5K again, but doing it outdoors, now that (Hopefully) spring is coming. I would probably still have to do one or two runs a week indoors, just due to my schedule, but if I can do one or two outdoors, that would be helpful. Either way, I did a 5 min walking warm-up followed by my usual 5 sets of 20 push-ups, lower body and pull downs. After that (and after watching a Mari Winsor infomercial for some overpriced Pilates device - actually Walmart had a similar device out last year which did not cost $60!!) I was inspired to do some Pilates. I tried the FIRM's Sculptilates which I have had in my virgin pile for some time. I liked it - some standing PIlates work with the band, then some Pilates inspired mat work using the band for some exercises, no band for others. Nothing really new presented here, but a good workout. Mostly lower body focused. I"d say it has a more "athletic" feel to it. Anyway, I'd better run - running late as per usual!
