Guest guest
Hi all, I`ve been very interested in the topic of gut health for the past year. I have to go on an antibiotic every time I see a dentist, or a dental hygeinist. I`ve also been on an antibiotic several times in the past year due to infections in my cheek (BioAlcamid related), and a suspected kidney infection. I`ve been on a morning acidophilus pill for a long time (on and off for years, but mainly on). I`ve upped the ante by adding fermented foods. I buy sauerkraut from a Polish deli/bakery here in Toronto (from an open pail in a refrigerated section, so I know the sauerkraut is not pasteurized). I've recently added radish kimchi that I get from a Korean grocery store. I'm experimenting to see if the daily nourishment for my gut (the pill and the two fermented foods, sauerkraut with breakfast doused in some salad dressing, and the couple of pieces of kimchi with dinner), will make for an improvement in my T4 cell count. My HIV specialist (world-renown), has said my count will probably not increase that much, so i'm trying to prove her wrong. My next blood test will be done in early May, so I'll let you know about the results. They say that our gut is our second brain, and that if we take care of our gut, all else will fall into place. In North America, we have never been big on fermented foods, and our gut gets little attention, although the recent trend in Probiotics is changing that. in Toronto
