Guest guest
Another job I'd love to have! This sounds like fun, being paid to walk around in the sun, sharing something you enjoy (and since I like being with kids, that too)! Monday = zoo day Monday is my zoo tour day, at least during the school year. 90 minutes + of walking and talking on hilly terrain. I had first graders today, so they did slow me down a bit. Third - fifth graders are my favorites. Longer legs, lots of energy, but not "too cool" to learn something new. Even with the first graders, it's a good steady walkabout. They just can't keep going like the bigger kids can. Pretty warm & sunny today. Think I got a little too much sun on my face. Gonna have to break out the hats again. Kathy in L.A. Guest guest
Alas, there is no paycheck. It's a volunteer gig. I even have to buy the not-very-flattering uniform. But I really love it. So I get paid in smiles and miles.Kathy in L.A. On Mon, Mar 15, 2010 at 1:45 PM, <nancydewolf@...> wrote: Another job I'd love to have! Guest guest
HI Kathy, Sounds awesome. I wish we'd get some sun and dry weather here - it has been raining for DAYS! Judy wasn't kidding about "riding the wave" to class! Guest guest
There's definitely something to be said for that too! When I told my husband I was going to an information session about what kind of hours, pay, etc. would be involved with working for Weight Watchers (as a meeting room receptionist or leader) he was surprised to hear I got paid for it, he was sure it was one of my volunteer things! Those of us that do it call it "paid volunteer work" because we don't get paid much but it like your zoo gig, it has many more blessings beyond the paycheck (and what I do get paid does help so I'm not complaining). Guest guest
That's right. I get something for me out of it (sunshine, exercise and usually good kids) as well as giving my time.Kathy in L.A.On Mon, Mar 15, 2010 at 5:45 PM, <nancydewolf@...> wrote: There's definitely something to be said for that too!
