Guest guest
Hi Sandy I have previously posted a link to the mind centering exercise of Silva.. This is good when the mind chatters as it is a guided visualisation with the alpha beat on the sound track.. The alpha rhythm replicates the 10 cycles per second . the optimum functioning of cellular metabolism. I am not good at meditation per se... however have huge gains every time I do the mind centering exercise. This led to disharmony and conflict. The author suggests that meditation can help us connect again with each other. The author suggests reasons why this change may have happened (competition for resources etc) - but we wondered about a retrovirus or maybe the affect of the bronze age (early metal toxicity??). At the same time there was a huge step forward in technology and humans became more sophisticated and " civilised " . I am interested in ego and in meditation - not getting terribly far with meditation- it doesn't come naturally, but, I think I am beginning to focus my thoughts better and quiet the brain chatter - and will keep at meditation. I think I read an article in a recent Autism File about a yound ASD adult who had taught himself meditation and helped his anxiety. I thought he'd done really well - I feel mediation doesn't come easy to many on the spectrum - but maybe like me they never knew much about it and didn't understand the benefits. Best wishes, Sandy

Guest guest
hi sandy have you tried hypnotherapy, i used to meditate, but with my busy life these days, don't prioritise it. last week i went for my first hypnotherapy session and experienced the deepest level of relaxation and clarity ever! it reminded me of my meditating days, but was even better! during the session the practioner showed me how to meditate and relax deeply for homework. hypnotherapy might give you an insight into meditation? do you use the 7/11 breathing technique? karenza xxx > > > Hi everyone, > > We have been reading this book over the holidays and have found it > thought-provoking > > http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fall-Insanity-Human-History-Dawning/dp/190504720\ > 7/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8 & s=books & qid=1285060163 & sr=8-2 > <http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fall-Insanity-Human-History-Dawning/dp/19050472\ > 07/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8 & s=books & qid=1285060163 & sr=8-2> > > My summary won't do it service, but basically it suggests that humans > (deserting the drying Saharasian regions) began to change (6,000 years > ago)- developing a greater sense of ego and separation (from each other > and from nature). Guest guest
Re sleep: I recently had the best sleep in years when I took tramadol for three nights (it's a strong painkiller). Now I'm definitely not recommending anyone takes an addictive opiate drug! - but it made me realise how poor the quality of my normal sleep is - awake half the night with thoughts going round and round and I really need to do something about it and drugs are not the answer. Unfortunately Henry got up at 2.30 last night and again at 4 am and startrd playing the piano and I don't know what to do to help him here. He goes off nicely, usually,in the evening so I don't think Melatonin is needed. Any ideas, please? Guest guest
Dear za, Thanks, that's a good idea. I've not really given hypnotherapy much of a try. I'd not heard of 7/11 breathing before - will give it a go. (I was just saying to Tim this morning that I don't think I still don't exhale well) Sandyxx > > hi sandy > > have you tried hypnotherapy, i used to meditate, but with my busy life these days, don't prioritise it. last week i went for my first hypnotherapy session and experienced the deepest level of relaxation and clarity ever! it reminded me of my meditating days, but was even better! > > during the session the practioner showed me how to meditate and relax deeply for homework. hypnotherapy might give you an insight into meditation? > > do you use the 7/11 breathing technique? > > karenza > xxx >
