Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I think the soreness may finally be abating, and the SI Joint may finally be settling down - although still cranky. Instead of doing a traditional strength workout today, I went with Pilates and the TM. First, I stretched out on my own - my usual getting out of bed stretches. Then, I did one segment from Petra' 10 Min Solutin Dance off Belly Fat DVD. I am determined to learn the routines on this one - they are definately not out of my reach, so with a little practice, I can master this one! So, I did one segment, and did better with it this morning than yesterday - so progress! Then, I hit the TM. I only wanted to spend 30 minutes on it - b/c I also wanted to do Pilates. I mixed things up - for the first 5 minutes I did a gradual warm-up to speed walking. Then, for the next 5 minutes I did a "pyramid" style walk - a little faster each minute, then bring it back down. Next 5 minutes I played with hills. Following 7 or 8 minutes I alternated jogging with walking. Then, did maybe some more hills to a cool down. I'm finding that my back can handle the incline if I move it around - sort of like walking outside. I did 2.5 miles in 30 minutes. Finally, I did 10 Min Solution Pilates - the one with the band. I forget the name of the workout but Suzanne Bowen leads it and she uses a theraband for the exercises. I did lower body, upper body, abs and stretch. I ran out of time and couldn't get the "total" body section in, but i'm ok with that. I liked this one - the band both challenges some exercises and for others helps you to do them better. The leg work, I find, is really good for my back/SI Joint. Hope everyone has a good Wed!Donna
Guest guest
Donna, What is being done for your SI joint pain? The reason I ask is that I have back pain and I just changed my primary care manager. My new PCM believes I have SI joint dysfunction. I had the worst weekend yet with this and he gave me an injection Monday morning. I DON'T want this to be the way this is treated longterm. I am hoping this will be the only one I have to get. Anyway, my old PCM just didn't have an explanation for me at all about my condition. He was stumped. I had other problems with him previously, so that was the last straw for me. I really just don't know what to expect with this. I thought about going to a chiropractor, but I have never gone to one and I just don't know what I think yet. Thanks, Ginger > > Hi Everyone, > > I think the soreness may finally be abating, and the SI Joint may finally be settling down - although still cranky.
