Guest guest
Oh Jules, I feel for you! As you know I'm out west coast here and cannot offer information of where your moving but I certainly understand the moving part as we did twice last year! Take a nap each day and not on the computer, lol, if you can get somewhere cozy and be good to yourself. Best of luck, I will be sending good thoughts your way. Pattymelt OT - Help needed...PLEASE I'm up to my eyes in boxes and my body is throwing a tantrum by aching all over and being so tired that I've "crashed" head first into my computer keyboard and waking up with bruises and indentations in my face!!! Hope there is at least one of you out there that lives near the cities (as I will be moving to a burb of the cities called Burnsville). Guest guest
Hi , Moving is not easy! Does your son & his wife live near where you are moving? If it's doctor's names you are looking for, who you know that someone else goes to & gives high marks...how far is Mayo Clinic from this Burnsville? (suppose I could look on the map) Anyway, as you know I live in Central Wisconsin, and have a rhuemy at Mayo who is a gem. It's almost a 5 hour drive one way, but worth the drive! Sorry to read how tired and in pain you are. You will be so relieved and happy when this move is completed. Sorry I'm not much help, but I'm not even sure what questions you need answers to. Please keep us updated...okay? Wisconsin, Tricia -- OT - Help needed...PLEASE I'm in need of some help from anyone who lives in the Twin Cities area of Minnesota. I'm moving there in 11 DAYS!!!!! Guest guest
Tricia, What's the name of your rheumy at Mayo? I know that there are two ESSENTIAL docs I need to find ASAP. One would be a good rheumy, and the other would be a good primary (internal medicine) doc. I'm trying to get into a program called MnDHO (Minnesota Disability Health Options), which is similar to the program I am in here near Madison. My son and daughter-in-law live about 30 to 40 minutes away from me, but that's a heck of a lot closer than 5 HOURS, which it is now! My current rheumy is sending me off with a diagnosis of "inflammatory arthritis with organ involvement, especially the liver ." Doesn't that sound like Stills, just in other terms? My anemia keeps getting worse (hope I don't have to stop in the middle of moving and have a blood transfusion!!!! Yuck!!!) and my liver enzymes are still upwards at least five times the normal readings should be. Of course, no one has an explanation for these things! Hope to find a doc in Minnesota that will understand all this and actually HELP ME! Thanks for all of your concerns! Will be back online ASAP computer setup and I'm online again at the new place. Have a Wonderful Day!JC Rose<lilac_rose@...>

Guest guest
Hello, , I agree with Tricia....it helps to have a referral to Mayo. Luckily, my Rheumatologist went to school with Dr. Mason or interned with him or somehow knew him and called and made the appointment for me. I was at Mayo within a few days. But, if it's true that they take a special interest in Stills, you might be put ahead of everyone also. I think I was diagnosed there in 1995 so maybe they were so pleased that they came up with a diagnosis that the Rheumatologists wanted to learn more about Stills. I certainly would give Mayo a shot !! And, good luck with your move. Take it easy as I am down with a flare right now and I believe it has to do with extra work that I've been doing. When I start something, I like to see it finished right then and there and I'm sure that isn't the smartest way. I'm paying for it right now ...... and I have my family arriving tomorrow for eight days............They will have to do a lot of their own entertaining. I think the pool will be the fun zone and they'll probably still be on Michigan time so the children will be tired by seven...............if not earlier........ Let us know what you decide on with finding doctors. Ca. Carmen
Guest guest
Hi , Here's the number to call The Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota. 507-284-4550. When I called them and asked for an appointment with a Rhuematologist, they asked first who referred me...I said "no one..I'm calling on my own behalf." The woman who took my call was very nice. She told me that to see one of their Rhuematologists could take 3 months to get an appointment, *however,* when I told her that I have Stills Disease things changed. She then said "we have 3 Rhuematologists here who take a special interest in Stills Disease." I was able to get in to see Dr. Mason quite soon. She gave me the names of three rhuemy's and had me choose one. I chose the one whose name I could remember and pronounce without thinking too hard. There is Dr. Mason, Dr. Michet, and a Dr. Mazlumzadeh. If you don't have a diagnosis for Stills...it might help to say that you "think" you have Stills.....at least it might get you a speedier appointment. Hope this helps a little. I wish you the best with not only the moving, but with finding a doctor who can come up with some answers for you.
