Guest guest
Hi Jen, I don't blame you for being concerned. I have been dealing w/ a strained calf muscle for about a month - thought it was better - but no! And, mine is not nearly as bad as yours, I've had no swelling or bruising. Definately get it checked out - ankle and calf pain can be a sign of achilles tendonitis or an impending tear of the achillies. Both of those injuries take a long time to recover from and may even need surgery in the case of a tear. Definately see a specialist! Don't try to work through the pain. Since my calf was bothering me as well as my ankle, I put Icy Hot on both of them (a lot!) The Icy Hot really did the trick because my ankle didn't hurt at all for an hour and a half! WAHOO! After that it started to hurt again and my calf felt tight. When I got home though and looked at my ankle it was badly swollen and so was my calf! That's it, I have to go to a specialist.. .this is REALLY BAD when my ankle swells every time I play (I'm pretty sure it would swell no matter what exercise I tried to do) and this time my calf is swollen too! I'm pretty concerned about it. Jen
