Heart Trouble Early and Often in H.I.V. Patients

Just read this article from the NY Times and I thought to myself is there

anything more we HIV poz folks have to worry about? There's just no end to it. I

am ready to go to a cardiologist to get checked out .. my HIV doc doesn't seem

to be much concerned .. I do have high blood pressure that's treated as well as

high triglycerides and cholesterol. Lucky I guess I haven't had a heart attack

... this article doesn't mention any preventive measures for people living with

HIV to avoid heart problems .. it's these meds no doubt. They're keeping us

alive at at the price of other health problems. I suppose. Life's a bitch ain't

it?

I continue to view smoking tobacco as suicidal behavior if you are HIV-positive.JB

I don't smoke I quit over 18 years ago. what was strange I was seeing the partying HIV/AIDS guys drink/smoke/do drugs and they are still alive today. This virus is a crazy one for sure. I also keep busy with art projects(volunteer to teach art too) and my animals so having an outside interest other than just me and HIV/AIDS I have lived a longer life. I intend to live to be 90 so I guess we as survivors need to set goals again as we age. And for goodness sake get a hobby of some kind don't let live become a bore or it will be just you and the virus and that's no good. Love FRANK

I don't smoke I quit over 18 years ago. what was strange I was seeing the partying HIV/AIDS guys drink/smoke/do drugs and they are still alive today. This virus is a crazy one for sure.
