Guest guest Posted February 20, 2010 Report Share Posted February 20, 2010 This afternoon I did around an hour and a half of kundalini yoga from Yoga House Call with Ana Brett and Ravi Singh (Thanks, Stacey!!!). I just hit play and went straight through but stopped after the practice for arthritis. I absolutely had no idea how long this dvd is! Wow! A lot of bang for your buck! There is at least another 1.5 - 2 hours more to go! Next time I will resume where I left off. As usual, I feel GREAT after doing this. I do believe the stacatto breath while holding the poses really does help circulate the blood and positive energy throughout the body, and I like how there is a brief meditation after each major pose. It's also a great shoulder workout. Holding your arms above your head while doing the breath of fire and opening and closing your fists is more challenging than it looks!My best yoga moment was when you get into a preparation for Crow pose and do the breath of fire. It's a wonderful hip opener and was in the Fertility and Potency section of the dvd. When she was done I thought, " what the heck, I'm gonna try Crow Pose " . I dug in, placed my knees onto the back of my arms, slowly lifted my feet off of the floor and leaned onto my triceps. While I wasn't able to hold it for more than a second before falling, this is the closest I have ever come to Crow Pose and I am really proud of myself! All this tricep work with Noel is really paying off! I need to make it a point to practice this one more! Here is a pic of crow pose in case you don't know what that is: I especially appreciated the lower back care section. Below is my week in review. I got 8.5 hours worth in and with the exception of pizza night out with my family (sans beer) on Thursday my food intake this week was good and the scale moved in the right direction a few lbs.
