wow..crazy claim! That rep is a moron!

Theratecnologies, a Candian company not know for good community relations, makes it. Serono, another company not known for good community relations, markets it in the US.  I am watching them closely....

Group;

I have a couple of questions about the drug Egrifta...........at a poz men's night last night, a drug rep (who will remain nameless) told me that Egrifta has an off label use to " increase fat " in the butt........I find nothing about this off label use in trying to research this. Anyone every heard of this?

Also, since the approved use is the reduction of fat around the liver (and other organs); would one use this medication for treatment of fatty liver?

Thank you in advance!

Stephan

PS: Who makes Egrifta......they do a good job of hiding their name on the drug web-site.

Just wondering since you did not increase your belly size perhapsthe 5 lbs increase is water retention caused by egrifta, do your arms andLegs look bigger and your face younger?Mark bSent from my iPhoneOn Aug 21, 2011, at 8:26 PM, "Pianobear100" <pianobear100@...> wrote:

In your question about does Egrifta “increase fat in the buttâ€, I’m don’t know. I have been on Egrifta for 2 ½ months. When I started, I weighed 168 pounds. I am 6 foot and my weight has stayed the same for many years. After 2 weeks, I had gained 5 pounds even though I had not change my eating habits. It has been very hard to take off that 5 pounds. In 2 ½ months I have only been able to take off 3 pounds even though I have been cutting back on my eating. I figured if I am going to lose inches around my belly which measured 37 inches when I started, I would need to lose total weight. After 1 month, my belly had not shrunk, but I still had those extra 5 pounds on without an increase in my belly inches. Maybe it went to my butt. J I have not measured my belly again. I thought I should get down to my original weight of 168 before I did. When I asked my doctor last week about it, he didn’t know anything. He has 5 patients on it and I guess none of them have reported anything back to him. To share a little information on the drug. It takes me about 4 minutes to mix and give myself the shot. I do it a little differently than the directions. I have found that Egrifta mixes with the water the easiest when you first take it out of the refrigerator and it is still very cold versus waiting for it to get to room temperature. I skip using the second needle as that seems like overkill since I don’t see how the first needle becomes contaminated. Also, I need to depressurize the Egrifta bottles as otherwise they suck the water in too fast. I also use ½ the water they recommend. Egrifta still dissolves easily and there is no lump under my belly after I give myself the shot as when I use the recommended amount. It didn’t work very well for me to turn the little bottles upside down and try to pull the solution from the bottles. Sometimes it would leave a little bit of solution in the bottle as hard as I tried. This was the most consuming thing to do as time goes. The needle that they supply reaches the bottom of the bottle and I just tilt the bottle sideways and pull the plunger out and it removes all of the solution the very first time. When I add the water to begin with, I stick the needle ½ way in and hold the bottle at an angle and slowly turn the bottle as I slowly inject the water. If anyone is having trouble injecting Egrifta, maybe these hints might help even though they are not sanctioned by the Egrifta folks. Will it work? I don’t know. I am going to get down to 165 and continue to do more exercising and see if my belly is as big. I have found the Egrifta folks very responsive. They have a 24 hour nurse and the injection packet that comes with the drug is very elaborate. It also includes a bag that can keep the Egrifta cold for 8 hours. Unfortunately, It only holds a 4 day supply. I am very fortunate that my insurance will pay for it at least 6 months. After that, I am not sure. Don
