Hi Everyone,

Today was scheduled to be a PowerFIT cardio and a PowerFIT core, but I elected to just do the cardio, leave the core for tomorrow, and do an Ellen Barrett workout this morning. I missed Ellen! :)

Anyway, the cardio was PowrFIT Harmony Move It. I think this may be my favorite cardio in the series - I like the step combo in this one. I wore my weighted gloves and added impact and large range of motion to get the most out of my 20 minutes!

I followed up with Ellen Barrett's Skinny Sculpt workout. A sneaky Ellen routine - I started off with 3's, but dropped to to 2's! I like Ellen's unique style - Pilates inspired, but really her own thing. Overall, I probably like Slim Sculpt better than this one - that was from her first Studio Series, but I really like the floowork in Skinny Sculpt so that is why it won out today. I did notice that since i haven't been doing as much Pilates and other types of flexiblity/strength/fusion blends that my own flexibility, coordination and mind-body connection is lacking a bit. I guess we go in cycles with what we focus on but I am in need of a flexibility/core strength/coordination tune up. Of course, it could be that my mind was not 100% on the workout either. I have a lot going on at work and in "life" at the moment and it is sapping my mental energy.

Tomorrow I will do my PowerFITs - I thin it is a double cardio day and I will add on the core workout from today to round out my workout time to 60 min. If I have any extra time, I'll throw something else into the mix also.

Oh - on a random though - there are often threads on VF about "what works for you". I started thinking about that today and I think the best "visual' results I get are from doing push-ups, walking or walking/running, and Pilates/barre/fusion workouts. I have noticed since slacking on push-ups that my upper body is not what it used to be (in spite of doing more resistance training), my legs looked better from walking or doing run/walks and the Pilates/fusion stuff shaped up my core the best. I guess the question is - if that is what works, why do I do other stuff? THe answer is variety. I get bored with the same old - so evne if I won't get the same results, I still like to change stuff up to keep it interesting.

Okay - off to deal with the day!!Donna

Great topic, Donna! This topic is relevant to me lately because as much as I love Turbo Kick I think my body is way too used to it and I don't get as many fitness benefits from it anymore, my muscle memory has latched on to it.

Running has definitely shocked my system in a very good way.  My legs are getting stronger in different places and the calorie burn is quite high.  I know this is really going to help me! I also feel that kettlebells have very much helped with my muscle building and you can feel the calories melt off while doing them.

I know that once Noel joins back into this mix in JUST FIVE MORE DAYS my body will experience dramatic change.I'm sad that I won't be teaching after this Sunday and leaving the GX environment, but my body is going to be better off for it in the end.

Hi!Yes, I think changing things up is probably key to seeing improvements since your body does get used to the same activity over and over again. So, I"ll continue to do some other stuff and then make my way back to Pilates/push-ups/running and walking! :)
