Here's my blog, just as it is on Sparkpeople. I've got a few of these

blogs now, so maybe I'll just send a few a day so I don't overwhelm. I

get a little wordy sometimes when I get started!

If you are really bored and want to read more, you can check the rest

out at my spark page.

Insanity Day 1 Fit Test

Well, I did it! I started my 60

days of Insanity today. For those of you who don’t know, this is a

program put

out by Beach Body and features Shaun T. (from Hip Hop Abs fame). This

is

supposed to be the hardest cardio program ever put on disc. It probably

is and

we’ll see if I make it through the whole 60 days. I’ve previewed the

first

plyo/cardio workout and it looks just crazy!

So today I did the Fit Test.

We’re supposed to do this 25 minute test about 5 times during the 60

days to

see the progress. For each exercise listed, we get 1 minute to do as

many of

them as we can, but we're supposed to keep good form while doing them.

I’ve

posted my results below for anyone who’s interested. But I have to

admit that I

have mixed feelings about it right now. I honestly think I could have

done

better - not in the reps, but in the form. I probably should have

waited a few

days to do this, but I had determined already last week that today

would be my

start day. However, I had to go to the chiropractor tonight because my

pelvis

was tipped forward and my left leg was over ½ inch shorter than my

right.

Knowing that my hip hurt so bad and I had very little strength in my

left leg,

I should have waited. But since I was going to the chiropractor

tonight, I

really wanted to get this test done today so I could get the first real

workout

in tomorrow. So I did it, but I think I sacrificed form for reps. I

almost want

to do it again and concentrate on form more, but what’s done is done.

It is

what it is and I’ll move on from here.

Here are my totals:

Switch Kicks: 66

Power Jacks: 64

Power Knees: 124

Power Jumps: 53

Globe Jumps: 12

Suicide Jumps: 22

Push-up Jacks: 22

Low Plank Oblique: 46

I’ll do these again in 15 days

and report back! Even though the goal is to get more reps, I really

hope I can

feel better about the form the next time (plus get more reps!)
