Guest guest
Dear Sue, My dearest friend...isn't the insomnia the pits? Usually I take Xanax. For about 10 years now, and I think it's wearing out it's welcome. The Ambien would only be once in awhile anyhow. Sue, I have tried everything to get to sleep at night! Everything that has ever been suggested! Sometimes...I don't have a problem... but, usually do. By the way...how are you sleeping lately? Will talk with you personal e-mail later. Take care hon. I cannot believe that this is happening to you. I have taken the whole Ambien, but I must say at times, it has taken the same effect on me. At times, I haven't fallen asleep for hours. Sometimes I have laid there for four to five hours before falling asleep, before getting a good night sleep. I am truly sorry that this is still happening. I don t know why this keeps happening to you. Have you tried a nice warm bath or a warm cup of tea or warm milk, and do you turn off all the lights, TV and little lights, such as the alarm clock? I was once told to turn around the clock also, so that the room is completely dark, with no lights at all. The doc said that any little light is enough to keep one awake and distract us and lose valuable sleep time. I did it for a while...turned the clock the other way and etc.....it did work, but then.....bob starts his snoring and before I know it, I am kicking him in the leg and awake with frustrations too. Oh friend...wish that there was something that I could do for you. I would try it again Tricia, and if it still doesn't work, I would call him. I will write you personally friend. Love and hugs. Guest guest
Hi Tricia, when I recently saw my Rheumy I also told him that my sleeping pills weren't working (imovane) and he switch me to Lorazepam and like you I took one and went to bed only to lay awake with hubby snoring next to me so I turned the tv on until about 4 a.m. and then tried to fall asleep which I did eventually. Let's hope tonight is a better night for all of us. Also, I asked the Rheumy at the time if I could up the dose to two imovane's instead of one and he looked it up in his medical book and he said no, you can only take one as any more could cause respirtory problems. If I were you I would check with your doctor or pharmacist. Take care, Marilyn > Saw my GP Tuesday, he prescribed Ambien to help sleep, and hopefully > " sleep through the pain. " Ha! Guest guest
Hi Graham.. I am no longer taking the amitrypline. But like you I was very out of it the next day when I did take it.. Foggy, kind of like that hung over haze the next day.. I am no longer taking that one.. They have me on ambian, the 1/2 doesn't work for me, but the full one most of the time does. But there seems to be sometimes that I have that tiredness the next day also, but of course this could be the stills also.. Guest guest
Hi , I see you are up early also. I don't think there's a full moon so I don't know why I can't sleep anymore. ?????? Are you dancing? Something is keeping me awake more than usual. I'm going to hop back into bed and read as that usually puts me to sleep. It's so dark in the mornings now. Guest guest
Hi Tom, I too take the occasional amitriptyline and whilst I find they don't make me drowsy, once asleep I seep to stay that way! 10mg seems to be enough to do the trick. The only problem is I just can't wake up the next day. I feel tired and foggy for the whole day. Do you experience this too? Guest guest
Graham Amitriptyline did that to me, it also made me feel very depressed and in a fog all day. Guest guest
How would I ever notice that I was in a fog? That's my natural state :-) I do agree that I sleep usually the full eight hours and feel good in the morning. Morning is my best time usually but not always. You're supposed to enjoy your amitriptyline is my experience. If I do wake up at night, I see the most incredible things, but I think I've said that already. I don't see these things as often as I did at first, but it's still happens. I sleep in my Sun porch during summer and I have seen some really strange things out side. The lamppost becomes a very interesting old lady, looking into my house becomes a most amazing cathedral, the bird feeder becomes an ostrich, always, always I think amazing and wonderful. Then I fall right back to sleep and forget it unless I recall it in detail in the morning. I hesitate to tell the doctor that I love my amitriptyline! She might take it away :-) Made with Dragon dictation -- Ride with a Glide, Segway -- Kufahl Re: RE: " donating my brain to science " Graham Amitriptyline did that to me, it also made me feel very depressed and in a fog all day.
