Guest guest
Hi Melt I got really vivid and horrible dreams when I was taking Propanolol for ectopic heart beats. Fortunately they didn't last long. I've always been a prolific dreamer, but those ones were really awful. Have you changed your medication at all? They could be a side effect. Hope you are free of them quickly. Love C 2 (UK) On 13 Feb 2004, at 17:04, idylpines wrote: > Good day all. I have been having a problem lately with what my > doctor said yesterday was night terrors. Guest guest
Dear Melt, There was someone else in the group who was waking up screaming wasn't there? It was maybe a couple of months ago or so. That has to be a terrible feeling and a scare not only for you but for also. Hopefully the change in meds will help. Are you still having dreams of your sister? Could be a combination of things...although I'm no expert. (just throwing out some thoughts) We love you, and pray that the "night terrors" are over. I'm sure we have all experienced a nightmare here and there, but it's surely not something one cares to happen often, if at all...then the screaming yet..how terrible! My prayers, heart, and thoughts are with you "forever friend." Sunny Wisconsin, Tricia -- OT: Night terrors Good day all. I have been having a problem lately with what my doctor said yesterday was night terrors. Horrible dreams with me screaming and yelling out loud etc. It started a few weeks back and got to be two a night and even when I was napping during the day. They have been horrible. I don't know much of why and he has changed some of my psychiatric medication that might help but said that maybe I should do a sleep study. I looked on the internet last night but just found a very small amount of information on this. I didn't look long though. What interested me was a line I read that sometimes it could be caused by central nervous problems. Since I am having many nerve problems lately I think I shall look more. Thank you anyone that sent me happy sleep fairies last night because it was the first night in weeks I didn't wake up screaming. I love you guys much and am happy to have my computer back to normal. Guest guest
Hey , That sounds like fun. I have been told I talk, laugh and giggle in my sleep. No screaming though. Since I moved home with Mom I sleep much better and rarely get up at all. Hope this resolves soon. Lynn OT: Night terrors Good day all. Guest guest
Thank you Lynn; I did find more information on the internet and I am hoping this new medication will help in the next few weeks. I have just been rather overwhealmed this past couple of months with all the medical issues with myself, Stills, etc. and I are really trying to be posative and get through all of this. I was also told by my Psych. doctor yesterday that he is being retired and I need to move on to a new one. This is going to be the third change in a year. It made me cry. I bought the happiest yellow, orange silk flowers, and a new scented candle the other day. It doesn't have any affect with the sleeping but sure has made me happy during the day. Thank you for your support, I love you guys dearly. Melt Re: OT: Night terrors Hey , That sounds like fun. I have been told I talk, laugh and giggle in my sleep. No screaming though. Guest guest
Sorry about your doctor. I am very picky about Psychiatrists. I have the best. I am pretty sure he is an old hippy. He is bald with a white beard and he suffered a head trauma in a motorcycle accident years ago so he is very understanding of the issues I have around my many brain surgeries. I have suffered quite a bit of damage and have major cognitive deficits as well as memory impairment and depression is only made worse by the trauma also. He just started me on a new drug to help with my memory but it had me up all night. I wrote 4 pages of notes on "novel" ideas. I guess I thought I would get up this morning and write a novel. Hee hee. I may actually try, I have some interesting experiences to write on for sure. I am getting desperate about money. I thought I was going to get some county aid this month and we canceled the apt. because they told me they would help me with rent and utilities but not if I am living with family. Stupid. So all I qualify for now is food stamps. I am hoping to sell more of my stuff and have been working hard on that. Mom is going to set us up an acount on Ebay until we can get our own website. I see my lawyer next week but our hearing is not until late next fall. I have to find out if a part time job will kill my case. I will get fired eventually for being sick but I could make a few bucks. My mom let me set up a workshop in her basement(gets real cold) and got me a heater and that is where I do my work. My gray cat starts looking for me around 11 to go down there. I tell him. "lets go to work" and he races down there and gets on his chair to watch me. It is cute. Of course he expects me to pick him up and pet him a lot too, but sometimes he just naps while I paint. Makes me very happy. Anyway, off to nap land.
