Guest guest
Hi Everyone, On Monday I finished up my "official" Huckabee 2-a-day PowerFIT rotation. I finished it up with a bang - I did all of the strength workouts from the original PowerFIT series back to back and then added on Core Fusion for good measure. I did my usual modifications - wore weighted gloves and doubled up on the bands (used the light and heavy together) to make it more challenging. For some of the exercises I used a longer band b/c you were doing overhead work while doing lower body and the bands that came with the PowerFIT workouts are too short for me to do that without compromising my form. Anyway, I'm glad I finished the rotation!! It was a fun-no-dread plan. Oddly, as time went on I found the strength workoutst to be more challenging - my guess is that it is b/c I became more profiicent with the use of the band. I think I got some good upper body and core results from this rotation as well. I will likely bring at least one of these sets with me when we travel this summer to do in the hotel rooms. I'm kind of worried about the long amounts of driving we'll be doing and how my back will cope. My chiro told me to basically walk for at least 20 min every day. I guess that means me and the TM in the hotel will become friends. Since we'll be arriving at our destinations later in the day and will be in unfamiliar places, TM is probably safest! For the next couple of weeks - this week and next - I'm kind of doing "whatever". there are a couple of 's FIRM workouts that I'm going to toss in along with other stuff. So, today I did Express Cardio from the FIRM BOX (death box) era. I actually caught on to the first step section on the first try. That is rare, for some reason, that first step section always throws me for a loop; and I have to rewind and do it at least twice to get it. The rest of the workout went well - your typical FIRM cardio workout -step, floor, tall box, incline box, some weights, some unweighted. So, variety! I added on Move It from PowerFIT Harmony - this was my favorite of the Harmony cardio workouts - I think it is the step segment I like so much. I didn't wear my weighted gloves for it and didn't go all out, but it was good to move for another 20 minutes. Followed up with Harmony Pure Power - a nice blend of yoga stretches, standing core work, and some crunches. Since my TransFIRMer is already out from Express Cardio today, the plan for tomorrow is Jiggle Free Arms (w/ ) followed by Harmony Lower Body Blast (might be my favorite of the strength workouts). I may add in some more core/ab work. I could do Jiggle Free, I suppose or I could do another Harmony. Anyway - hope eveyrone has a good one!Donna
Guest guest
Congratulations, Donna on finishing your rotation! Wow, you did go out with a bang, too! GREAT job!! I have had a hard time with Express Cardio, especially that first step section. I think the last time I did it I did better than previous attempts though. I did Jiggle Free Arms, for the first time ever, today! I'll post my review in a bit and will look forward to reading your thoughts if you do it tomorrow!
