Guest guest
I read somewhere that a weighted vest is better than carrying heavy weights while walking and it's definitely better than wearing ankle weights. Carrying light weights or using a Power Belt like I do when I'm doing those workouts is safe. I think you should ask your Dr. first. I saw one at Wal-Mart that is 12 lbs (it is not adjustable though - I thought it was but a package was opened and there is no way to take any of the weight off of it to build up to 12 lbs slowly) I'm small, so that is a smidge more than 10% of my body weight - is that too heavy? Part of me says no - I mean people carry around 12 lb babies! I guess my concern is - do you think this would further compress my lower back? The weight looks to be distributed evenly - a bit like a back pack - but "tighter" so it wouldn't swing around. Also thinking I can wear it while doing push-ups and other body weight exercises. So, am I crazy? Mostly I'm concerned about whether or not it would further compress my lower back. Take care!Donna
