Guest guest
Hiya A friend of mine is going thru the same thing right now, very heavy periods, and he gave 2 reasons, the first one is the cervical cysts themselves cause heavy periods, and the other is menopause also plays into it. Hope that helps Luv and hugs, Aj
Guest guest
Hi Dutchess, Okay then....Although I was in my 40's when I had "problems," I opted for the hysterectomy, ( my husband also had a vasectomy after I was 2 months pregnant and lost the baby, almost died, and the D.Dragon came back to stay.) I have 2 (grown now) children from a first marriage, and one with present husband. three healthy children, I felt my uterus had served me well....so..be gone! ..and so it was..The dr. didn't do the surgery through the abdomen. We were planning on no more children...so, I didn't need the part. I felt total "freedom" after that! No more worry of pregnancy.....although I would have loved more babies, my health wouldn't have handled it...besides..my husband had that vasectomy. Most of all....no more monthly "headaches." Wishing you the best whatever you decide. Wisconsin Tricia P.S. I have always felt that Stills "Could" be some sort of a connection to hormones, but have been told "no." -- Female problems w/Still's? Hi everyone! This is the Dutchess.......again - lol!!! This post is concerning female health problems so all of our male Stilligan's if you don't desire to partake please delete this e-mail. I don't want to offend anyone, but I am having some trouble and want to see if anyone has experienced similar troubles.I went to get my annual OB/GYN exam knowing that I had a few issues to discuss, such as extremely heavy periods for 2 years now. They are so bad that even though I take iron every day I am still slightly anemic. My question is.....does anyone know if Still's can cause abnormally heavy periods and/or can steroids cause this? I've posted this question recently and it seems not many of you had this trouble. The other thing she found was that I have cervical cysts - oh fun! She removed one right there and then - OUCH!!! Has anyone had this? Cervical cysts??? I'm wondering if the dragon is causing this problem too? I've always been blessed with no female medical problems. She's sending that off to ensure it doesn't have cancer cells.Anyways......she's recommending a hysterectomy if my rheumy is ok with it. She said he has to be totally involved (which, of course I agree). She doesn't know if I'd have trouble with blood clotting and/or going under anesthesia? The blessing is I have two beautiful, healthy children and we know we are done birthing children - as soon as I went on MTX my husband had a vysectomy. So I'm thinking go for it - take it out!!! Any experience with this? She said I wouldn't have to go under the knife. The other option is the birth control pill - I just can't see taking another pill when I don't even need birth control - doesn't make sense to me. I will do that if the rheumy says no to a hysterectomy, though. I'm getting too weak from the heavy periods. My real question to all of you does Still's cause cysts and cycle problems - have any of you experienced this....Thanks for listening, even if no one has experienced this one...Love, The Dutchess of Dixie, Chris. Guest guest
Thanks Aj...yesterday is such a blur, but i think I remember the OB saying the cervical cysts might be causing the heavy periods. Anyways, I'm thinking it's time to lose the uterus....not thinking I'll miss it too much - lol!!! Guest guest
I am highly suspicious there is some connection with Still's and female reproductive organs/hormones because prior to Still's I never had one problem in that area. I was the envy of my friends. The last 2 years has not been pretty in that area. It will be interesting to see what my brilliant, researching loving rheumy down in Birmingham has to say about this mess...I'll keep everyone posted...thanks for the support....it really helps...Love, The Dutchess, Chris >From: " TLC " <2r1@...> > > Hi Dutchess, > >Okay then....Although I was in my 40's when I had " problems, " >I opted for the hysterectomy, ( my husband also had a vasectomy >after I was 2 months pregnant and lost the baby, almost died, and >the D.Dragon came back to stay.) Guest guest
Hi Yes, heavy periods was one of the first signs for me. I was so anemic at the time my ferriton (sp?) level was 0. My doctors and I opted for the birth control pill. I take it continually so I don't have a period at all. They are affaid if I take it as prescribed usally I will lose to much blood. I have been doing this for 18 months now and have been better. Sorry don't know anything about cyst. hope this helps. Take care. Judy, PA such as extremely heavy periods for 2 years now.
