Posted by: AUTISM Foundation Organization: SNAPPERS-special, needs, autism, programming, productivity, educational, resources, socialization. Location: burg, Ontario, Canada Idea Created: September 27, 2010 Overview: AUTISM Foundation, Large scale SENSORY ROOM. SNAPPERS = special, needs, autism, programming, productivity, educational, resources, socialization. An inclusion opportunity within the community. Large scale SENSORY Room. The Mission is to support children, youth, and families to achieve resilience / foster hope as they learn to journey through life's changes. Through educational assistance. Everyone reading this I urge you to vote, show your support. Autism Spectrum Disorder is one of the most common developmental disabilities. In the World, not only here in Ontario, there is an estimated 70,000 individuals with ASD. The purpose is to offer a central location for participants to develop skills/participate in recreational activities - allowing them to actualize their full potential while giving support to families, within a 150+ kilometer radius, because there just isn’t anything in the rural communities. Let's be part of the change for high risk families providing them with answers & support when they are going through possibly the hardest times in their lives. We need your help to make the dream of this centre a reality!! WE ARE HOPING TO OPEN, A LARGE SCALE SENSORY ROOM, IN THE RURAL COMMUNITY CENTER A SPECIAL NEEDS PROGRAMMING ROOM DEDICATED TO FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN WITH AUTISM,(BUT NOT JUST) WE WISH TO SUPPORT FAMILIES;CHILDREN RESPITE SERVICES, WORKSHOPS, OPPORTUNITIES FOR SOCIAL ACTIVITES, LEARNING & SPREADING VALUABLE INFORMATION REGARDING THE NEUROLOGICAL DISORDER KNOWN AS AUTISM, FAMILIES IN RURAL COMMUNITIES HAVE NO ONE TO TURN TO FOR SUPPORT, PLEASE VOTE. The possibilities of this project could re-define the instructional opportunities to each; develop fundamental virtues such as acceptance; understanding, reaching personal potentials, responsibility, peace, problem solving & solidify “dreams.” Thus I am submitting this idea to your community fund project in hopes of getting the one thing that will help families in need with special needs children…Financial assistance is the key to helping children with intellectual disabilities discover a world of potential within.. We exist in a world where we are all a community, even if sometimes we don’t live like it. When we become aware of our role as the individual within the community we can take responsibility for how we are influencing the community as a whole. What you do makes a difference. What community do you want to live in? You are an important member of my community. I wish you to know that your choices effect not only you, but me and everyone in everyday of your existence together. I know that together we make a difference Our long term goal is to be able to share the resources; best practises that will be generated from this program with the rest of the Province of Ontario. We are committed to ensuring the “Foundation “ remains viable; sustainable well into the future. My idea is to provide, SENSORY ROOM, affordable programming for families in the community with special needs children. We had a huge demand, but unfortunately many families were not in a financial position to send their child. This seemed to be the consensus across the board…activities were desperately needed but in many cases unattainable to families because of cost. With this knowledge I make it a personal mission, to get programs to families who need them.In a world where an idea exists that an answer lies somewhere outside ourselves, we often lose focus of the simple fact that the community is the individual. Each member playing a role in its entity. The individuals within the community defining it. What we choose to do or not do is a factor in its makeup. Each individual interacting; influencing others. Through community all things are possible. If a community chooses to stand for something, there is power in numbers. As the extension of the community grows and the numbers of individuals contained within it, there is nothing that can not be overcome. We feel that our enterprise will help with rural development. We want to offer an opportunity for young. This genetic destiny often creates significant stress on families as they are ultimately faced with various challenging decisions about their future health. In addition to providing support to those individuals/ families affected by providing information, advice and peer support. All people should have timely access to quality health information/ services. Currently there are no active organizations or current hospital services in Ottawa that provide this kind of support and resource information. The demand/need is ever increasing. PLEASE SUPPORT THIS RURAL COMMUNITY ENDAEVOUR
