I have just read 's post about introductions. I

probably won't write too much as it is now 1am here so I really need to get to

bed as I have a meeting in the morning with my son's primary school. The

meeting is on a bad note as we have discovered that our son's lack of progress

at the school is largely due to the ignorance and incompetence of a particular

teacher and an assistant principal. So although I am seething because of the

severe impact it has had on our boy, I am hoping to resolve my serious concerns

so that we can all move forward in a positive manner for the sake of our son.

The problem was highlighted by an encounter our son had over two days (As his

teacher was away on camp)with an obviously gifted teacher at the school who had

our son glowing and conducting himself as a model student which was in complete

contrast to the last 5 months under the tutelage of his normal teacher. Anyway

I am a single Dad of an 8 year old boy who has been diagnosed with Aspergers

and some mild associated behaviours of ADHD. We reside in Australia. I have

read all I can on the subject and have attended lectures by respect experts in

the field here. I have sought the help from medical professionals so there is

no doubt we have tried to provide all the support possible but it would appear

due to the ignorance and or genuine lack of care or interest of some school

staff members my boy is suffering. Anyway I thought joining the group might be

helpful in the journey ahead of us. Not sure how anonymity works on the forum

as to do we sign off with real names. So for now hello (Gidday) to you all and

bye for now from, Butfornow.
