Tristen is 3 1/2 and just had her 6th SubQ today.  The nurse was here for 3

times and I've been on my own since, thankfully my mom has been able to come

over each week to help distract and calm Tristen down.  She knows she's getting

her infusion and she knows what it means, but once she see's the needles she

starts to get anxiety, cry and kick her legs.  Does this stage go away?  Do they

realize it isn't going to hurt?  How do you do it if you are on your own with a

younger child?  She actually isn't too bad when I insert the needles, it's

actually worse when I take the tegaderm off and take the needles out.  Any

suggestions would be great.

Thanks,

le
