Guest guest
I wanted to see if anyone out there has ever experienced an on going (over a year now) wet cough with their PID kid. Reagon had adenovirus last summer and we have never been able to clear up the wet cough it left behind. Her CT's only show mild bronchiactisis and we have had her on high dose steroids, inhalers, theophylline and Zithromax. And high dose IVIG. Although her O2 is fine (98%) and her PFT's are great (109%) she still has a chronic wet cough. We have upped her reflux meds with no luck. Every time she laughs she sounds like a smoker! I have done percussion treatment on her..had her hang upside down, anything I could think of! She doesn't have any trouble coughing it up...it comes up easy..but 5 minutes later she'll sound just like she did before she hacked a bunch of stuff up. They have done mucus cultures and nothing grows??? I am at my wits end with it. The dr. keeps saying her lower lungs sound clear that is sounds like it's coming from higher up. I have also taken her to and ENT to have her sinus checked and he said they were fine. I just hate to go into another cold/flu season with her already sounding yucky! All that gunk in her lungs has to leave her suseptible to stuff. Any ideas???? Thanks! Becki Reagon 7 years CVID asthma
