Dear Cukan, Good morning and thank you for the article concerning transmission of the HEP C virus. Everyone SHOULD be tested and find out their status, and possibly make changes in their lives to either not become infected, or not to infect others. Actually, I have thought alot about this very issue, ever since I was diagnosed with HEP C 2b with ESLD. I had no idea I was a carrier and victim of this insidious disease. I just thought I was tired all the time. Thank You, for bringing 'light' to this rapidly growing, fairly 'new' disease. As far as I know, the virus HEP C can be brought down to a number that is untraceable, or undetectable, after 3,6,12,or 24months (whichever is necessary).. of Interferon and Ribivarin shots/pills. There is no

guarantee. The Side Effects, to most of us, range from a feeling like the flu may be coming on...aches, pains,etc. This is not so bad..and some even don't experience'sides' at all. I tried twice, five weeks each time, and my body will simply not allow the poison (interferon) to function probably. I get Staph, which actually kills at random, at a quicker pace than HEP C virus. As of yet, after reading the information that Mr. Lawford states there is cure, I realize this statement is at the least, irresponsible, incorrect, and not well thought out. There is no cure!! only treatment! While some experience a level of low viral loads, they still have HEP C. To print and put on-line a statement like this, surely will mislead the already misinformed public, and obviously our Medical Professionals as well...I wonder what source Mr. Lawford used in gathering that particular statement regarding the information that

there is a cure...... This statement (there is a cure) only fuels the fire of ignorance, which it seems there is quite enough, already. Do you think that yourself and Mr. Lawford could..., or should ....... retract this publicly printed erroneous and extremely DANGEROUS information that has been published ALL OVER THE WORLD? Before someone that is addicted to IV usage of drugs, says he read in an article "There is a CURE", like your report...that while you can "get" HCV, all you need to do is a get shot(or whatever) and be treated for it because it's cure-able, could actually cause a higher increase transmitting HCV. If a $500.00 a day user, even remotely thinks that it's not dangerous to share needles, he will rationalize the sharing of only one needle used by multi[ple people. Just say NO! was a great campaign slogan started by

the Reagen Administration, for elementary school. "Innocents" may be affected by the addicted actions that one night, (just one time won't hurt, and if I get it, I can just cure it)!! I hope I am the one misinformed, and not you and Mr. Kennedy Lawford. Please advise the source(s) used, before actual circulation of this report I will wait for your reply..to show and advise everyone, THERE IS A CURE!! Praise the Lord and Science for coming up with a cure!! Where can I get it?? The folks that really suffer from the current treatment plan ( as of this post this plan has the highest rate of success), are the ones that can't even get out of bed, bathe, have sores and blisters on the skin, hair loss, hallucinations, hearing and vision loss, mental/psychological trauma that can make us noxious,completely

incoherent, cause personality changes as well, and something we call....RIBA RAGE. Rage can make your personality change from being the nicest person in the world, then, without warning, if someone, say.... has 12 items in a grocery store and they are in the 10 items or less ailse, a verbal attack may be forthcoming. In most cases the "sides" go away after treatment is completed...in other cases, they do not. Whether it worked or not, some will continue suffering memory loss (unable to finish a sentence, remember your spouses name..etc)..... confusion ( no clue as to what your doing or why your doing it), fatigue and depression. This can be for the rest of our lives.... Most of us have experienced atleast some of these 'sides'. I hope that you will understand why I write the following comment regarding your statement

that there is a "cure". If there was a "cure" ( as you have stated) to irradicate %100 the Hep C virrus, we, (the suffering) would do whatever it takes to get that "cure". Well...actually... we are already are, aren't we? Injecting ourselves in the stomach, with what is nothing more than poison, (Interferon contains ANTI-FREEZE, I believe the industry name is Ethyl-Glycol) designed to kill,. in this case kill the HEP C virus, and going through all the pain, stress, and misery, and HIGH cost. Not just to us, but our families as well. The threat of early death neatly tucked away in the corner of your mind, yet always being aware it is there. On a more basic note, Praying... Praying... you can hold onto your bowels, with every bump you hit, just being taken to the Doctor, or waiting in line somewhere. I ask, if

there is a cure, as stated... PLEASE tell US about it!! Please. If not, possibly you should consider retracting the statement "there is a cure", and set the record straight. What concerns me is when PROFESSIONALS in their field, print reports such as this giving us false hope, there is a cure. This very easily may cause the young, uninfected teenager to participate in an avtivity that is condusive to transmission.
