Guest guest
You jogged my memory Regina, When our daughter w/Aspergers was 8 and our nuerotypical son was 5 we took them to Disney World. They slept most of the way down from VT and back. At the park our daughter loved the fast scary rides as did my husband so our son and I did the easy rides if any and we all had a blast. My older daughter, neurotypical, had a fabulous time.Basically, we split up. Husband and daughter did the rides, and my son and I did other stuff. There were very few rides he was interested in.He loved the monorail, the hotel pool, and LOVED the Buzz Lightyear doll we bought him.He was terrified of walking into the Magic Kingdom, not sure why. Many of the people dressed in costumes also terrified him. Sometimes noise bothers him, so we brought ear plugs and a knit hat along. Disney is a very noisy place. I think he enjoyed the Animal Kingdom the best of all the parks. At that age, our son would wander or bolt sometimes. So we put a wristband on him with our cell phone and wrote our cell phone number on his arm. And an orange shirt. Fortunately, with me watching him constantly we had no trouble. (I once dyed his hair blue to go to a water park.)We had no trouble finding food he'd eat.Not sure what to tell you about the stroller problem. I'm guessing that being carried in a backpack would the the same problem?People were all very nice. Have a wonderful time!! Reggi Levinreggi@...
