Guest guest
my grandson had another endoscopy to see how he is doing and to change his peg and the Dr. did biopsies because we have been having a lot of diarrhea and bloody stools. I am wondering if there is more that should be done with him? He has been having problems for 6 weeks and each time we went to the pediatrician she didnt seem concerned. When we went to the Immunologist almost 2 weeks ago now she cultured and checked his diapers and she is the one who set up the appt. with the GI doc who placed his G-tube. I was surprised how quickly the peg changed was scheduled and now I am more concerned because the results from the biopsies came back much quicker than we expected. Am I worrying for naught? He suggested we changed his medication from the liquid form to the solu-tab but he is only 6 months old so how can he safely swallow a tablet and even more so should he be getting anything by mouth??? we have been concerned with his aspirating everything he swallows so how can he justify the solu-tab? I mean the whole point of the G-tube was to prevent him from choking to death? I talked with the nurse yesterday and she was going to relay the concerns but I have not gotten a call yet. ok back to the bloody stools...he is anemic now...his blood count was only 9.2 and to my understand thats pretty low he has been getting iron supplements everyday since he was a week old and he has barely made any improvements since... How can losing so much blood everyday be ok? He gains weight, he is now rolling over and putting everything in his mouth...as far as the early childhood people are saying he is only 7 weeks or so delayed...Im worried about his motor development because he gets no tummy time and is not able to be on his belly at all...he sits up quite well and is trying to get himself to a sitting position by himself...but if he continues to be so tired and dragged down how can he grow up normally? ok...so I have more than one question...lol chalk it up to a grammys curiousity.
