Guest guest
Something happens very strange this morning to our 8 years old autistic son that we have no clue - He is physically 100% perfect and slept last night with no issue. He woke up this morning and when tried to go to restroom, he was unable to put his right feet on the ground for possible pain(?). We thought may be muscle cramp or something, so we did soft message his leg/feet muscle but unfortunately even after couple hours it did not show any improvement. When doing message, it doesn't look like he has any muscle pain as he did not cry or show any response unless bending/straightening leg 100%. When he is sitting, he is moving his leg as usual, kicking chair legs/ground as normal. So, there seems no issue with nerviness/numbing. Took to Park Nicollet Clinic at 10:30am, doctor checked his entire leg/feet, found no bone/muscle pain. So, they did his hip x-ray to find out if anything wrong going on his hip. X-ray came normal and his hip structure looks alright. Now the doctors are clue less and we are clueless too. We would appreciate sending your thoughts! Guest guest
This could be a sensory issue, but I am not sure. My son won't use his hands much, because he says touching things cause him pain. It also hurts him if someone touches him. You might want to look into that as the problem as well. Guest guest
My son is 16. A couple of years ago, he started having some strange episodes also, his legs just wouldnt work. He would say that he would be walking and just fall down, and his legs would go limp, after ward he would be kind of dazed, like he was drunk or something. I took him to all the Drs. they couldnt find anything wrong with him. They did xrays, eegs, blood work-everything and even sent him to a neurologist and they found NOTHING. It is very weird, and it happens about every few months. Candy From: <towfique_ali@...>Autism and Aspergers Treatment Sent: Thu, April 21, 2011 4:19:51 PMSubject: Seeking your thoughts! Guest guest
I'm going to ask you to do something and it will sound cruel, but try it. Go up behind him when he is NOT expecting you, and yell or hit a pan with a spoon. See if he falls down. If he does, he has cataplexy. On 4/21/2011 8:29 PM, Candy Crouch wrote: My son is 16. Guest guest
Sounds like a sensory disintergration issue. Sometimes the nerves just make up their own information for no apparent reason. That's why my son winces and complains when I was his hair. He tells me it hurts, eventhough I am extremely gentle. What we found that helps with neural connectivity is craniosacral therapy and face & skull tapping (Handle Method).
