Online Schooling/K12

I've been seriously thinking of getting my son out of public school and doing K12, which has the option of doing online schooling. Does anyone here do K12? If so, how has it worked for your child? is really struggling in school right now (he has Aspergers and Tourettes)... the teachers have had a hard time getting him to do his work. And sometimes he comes home early from school because of a tummy ache, due to stress. He does not like to be around other kids, because of his fear of germs and sensory issues. And then the whole issue with the school fire alarm drill going off a few weeks ago (sorry I haven't gotten back to those who responded) scaring him to the point where he had an accident. It's gotten to the point where I need to make some changes. And the school is concerned, because he keeps missing school because of his tummy aches.

He is in 6th grade and I've been thinking about doing K12 for the last three years for when he is in 7th. grade +. I don't think he will be able to emotionally handle Jr. High and HS, because he will have to go from class to class, and he acts way younger then his age (he is almost 12, but acts like he is 7 or 8). But I am also seriously thinking about starting K12 this year, I have until Oct. 1 to register him, but I am still on the fence on whether to start it this year or next year.

We have a meeting with his teachers and the school Psychologist tomorrow to discuss his IEP, they want to make changes (which I actually told them I think he needs). But I just don't know if changing his IEP, will stop his anxieties about school.

I hate this because I want what is best for my son, but I am not sure what that is. And if I decide to do K12, I am not sure what to say to his school about it. I am afraid they won't respond well, even though it is accrediated. His teacher does know I have been thinking about doing it for next year. And I am scared that I won't know what I am doing if we do K12, and then he fails. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks!

Jenn
