Hi, I am new to this group. I am a mother of 4 children, 25 yr old, 23 yr old,

13 yr old and a 10 yr old. Three of my children were all diagnosed with ADHD,

my oldest and then my two youngest. My two younger kids were diagnosed at an

early age but know now that my 10 yr old was misdiagnosed as he has aspergers

w/anxiety disorders, and ODD. He also was born partially blind in one eye. We

now are suspecting that our 13 yr old may also have some of the same problems

but not as severe as her younger brother. Since his diagnoses these last two

years have been a roller coaster as we did not know anything about this

disorder. I had been told by many people it was just that I did not punish my

children the way they should be and that is why they act out like they do,

especially my son. I even had CPS on our case constintly when the school would

report us for not properly bathing, having his clothes clean and other things.

I was so upset and knew that I was doing the right thing but trying to prove it

was hard. We never had them taken away just always had eyes watching us. When

we got this diagnoses of aspergers our doctor explained to us that it is not us

but this is sometimes what happens with these types of kids and assured us that

they would help us through it. Well, we are still working on getting our son

situated with things but things are looking up and hopefully now that I have

found a group to maybe talk to others with some of the same problems we go

through. Thank you for having this group and hope to get to know some of you.
