Guest guest
My 16yr. old Aspergers son is in 11th grade at our local school, this is his first year as he was in emotional support classes in another school previously. I thought things were going well(at school, anyhow) until the school called and said a mother had called to complain because Mike was behaving inappropriately towards a female classmate.(sitting to close to her, touching her hair, following her to her car)This has happened in the past where Mike gets obsessed with a girl but it happened at camp and social skills group. We ended up pulling him from these activities, but can't pull him out of school and don't know what to do. His father and I have tried talking to him about bounderies, so have other adults til we're blue in the face and it doesn't matter to Mike. I should have known something was up when his dad was teasing him one day and said 'you don't have any friends' and Mike replied 'sure dad, that's why i sit with football players and cheerleaders at lunch'. I guess since he is allowed to sit with them he considers them his friends, although they don't talk to him and comments are starting to be made on Facebook. I saw a pic of Mike sitting next to this girl and the comments were terrible ('her secret lover', 'that boy is really f*** up'). Short of pulling him out of school does anyone have any suggestions?
