Guest guest
I have a question. My hemoglobin was 9.9 last month, 9.3 this month. Low normal is 11.5.....Haven't I dropped 2 full points? I keep hearing that dropping 2 points is necessary for procrit. I feel simply awful and have begun to get pale. When is it advisable to want procrit? My doc does not like to prescribe any thing during treatment. Sharon RE: nondetectable!! Guest guest
Go to the drugstore and ask your pharacist for 1000mg of vitamin B12 with folic acid and take two of them a day in the morning. They will not hurt you but they might bring your blood up a bit. There is also Procrit for low red blood count and Epogen for low white blood count. They are needles that the doctor can give you if either the red or the white gets too low.Print this out so you can talk to your doctor if it gets to bad. Guest guest
Have you suggested the procrit to him.During treatment is when it is needed.Try asking him how low it has to get before you need something like procrit. Guest guest
I did suggest it at the beginning, I asked him if it was available to me if it should be needed and he said it's rare to need it. Guest guest
I'll try the pharmacist. I have asked my doc (who has a very high reputation in our community) for both of these, proctit and epogen, he does not feel they are necessary at this point. Sharon RE: nondetectable!! Guest guest
As long as he is going to give it to you if needed because about 10% will need one drug or the other before treatment ends.
