Some

say the sides are a little easier on the Pegasys. The main difference I’m

aware of is the Pegasys is a static dose and the PegIntron is weight based. I

think the one you go on is just your doctor’s preference if you haven’t

done it before. Someone is doing tx now that did the other. Sharon, is that you? What’s your take on it?

Preferance

Anybody know if there is a preferance between

PegIntron (Schering) or Pegasys (Roche) one way or the other..I know they are

direct competitors on that interferon product..??

I'm taking the same dose as I did with Pegintron. I'm overweight, so that's 1200 mgs of copegus daily and 150, I think of Pegasys weekly. I am definitely having a better time with copegus than with the other pills. The interferon is about the same. It knocks me back for a few days. I've learned to do as many hosehold chores as I can over the weekend and then Sunday night is shot night. I don't get too excited about doing anything but surviving for the next 2 or 3 days. It's getting a little less severe, tho. I understand that it will begin to level off in severity soon.

AND overall, this round is easier.

The

same dose for everyone. I think 180 whatevers. Whereas with the PegIntron

you might do 180 if you weigh 200 lbs but only 150 if you weigh 100 lbs. I’m

making up those numbers though. On Pegasys, only the pills are weight based.

On PegIntron, I think both the shots and pills are weight based.
