Guest guest
Well I have attended AA for 13 years and if you are just going to meetings and talkiing about the problem and not the solution then I can see your point. I go to meetings that we discuss not only the problems but all of the solutions (which come from working the steps and intergrating the principles behind the steps into your lives). If you just guit drinking without changing your thinking then you are right it is just a dry drunk. But I have to tell you that I know hundreds of people that AA has changed their lives. I am one of them and grateful everyday for the program and the people that trudged the road before me to make a path to follow. Remember you asked. Guest guest
AA has helped many many people by giving them a place to go to express their feelings, fears, failures and triumphs. In this way, and by listening to the SAME things coming from other alcoholics, do these people help themselves to stay sober and face the demons inside them. I am lucky in that I am not addicted, but I have lived with many generations of drinkers and have a dear son who is afflicted. I think I speak with a little knowledge on this subject. Guest guest
We all need something or someone to turn to who understands the problem we are in. Different strokes for different folks and if it helps I say go for it. My brother is a recovered alcoholic thank you lord, most of my family very heavy drinkers but never was for me a problem but drugs were. patSHARON CROSBY <csharonxoxo@...> wrote: Well said, Jerri.
