Are they still there? I tried to see them but I couldn't find them.

I'm probably just missing them.

Thanks Tammy! I'm so glad you especially liked my favorite girl in the world!!!

Yes, Dolly

is a spoiled brat but I like it like that! She sleeps with me on my bed,

sometimes she sleeps

on the pillow, sometimes at the foot of the bed....Oh I love my Dolly!

Your surgery is fast approaching! I hope you lose more weight in the post op

period than I

did, but hopefully when I get my first fill on April 17 I will not be so

STARVING all the time!

Dolly says hi to Daisy! LOL

I missed the conversations about dogs, but I, too, love my baby girl sooooo much. She's a 5-year-old Yorkshire Terrier named TobyEtta. Etta was my grandmother's name, and I swear, Miss Etta's spirit is in that dog. I was her favorite grandchild and I just know she's been watching over me all these years! When I get around to posting photos, I will of course have at least one of Toby. I'm like the rest of you, pictures of my girls, my folks, and LOTS of pictures of Toby in my office. Even my computer wallpaper is Toby! PD

Karlie - wow - you have a whole "family" of doggie babies. Cool. My folks have a poodle and he is so in love with Toby(Etta). He's a sweetie. I enjoy when my friends go out of town and leave their babies with me. I sometimes have 4 Yorkies and a Maltese - and of course, they all insist on sleeping with me. I have a king size bed and can't even turn over because they surround me! PD (Phyllis)

Thanks, I am always hesitant about taking pictures because I hate how

I look but with a little nudge from Nina I figured well I better get

on the horn and take a few pictures. I'll try to take some more as I

lose the weight. Thanks for the Support!! :)

Wow, Carol. What a trip down memory lane! Your cast was just like mine. I

had 3 of those Rissers, but only in the last one was I allowed out of bed.

I have no photos of mine. I don't think anyone even thought to take any. I

doubt I would have allowed it anyway.

Cam has helped me post some pictures at the website. The first " one " is

actually two pictures. I scanned two together. The one is of me in my

first cast after the surgery when I was 16 yrs. old. I had to wear a

cast for 9 mos. after the surgery. Had two cast changes. The other one

is of me, my surgeon, , MD (sitting) and a resident, Dr.

Sampson, standing. This was taken right before I went home from the

hospital (Children' Hosp. Oakland, CA) about two weeks after I went

in. The other one is of me and my family taken in Dec. 2004 at a

relative's wedding. My girls are now 16 and 19. (The tallest one is the

youngest!) I've enjoyed seeing others' photos--I hope you enjoy seeing

mine. Sorry-I don't have a digital camera, so can't post any X-rays.

Yeah, I looked thru the old scrapbook that had these pictures. I

haven't looked thru it much. I guess we don't want to " re-live " those

days!!! They allowed me to sit up right away after I got the cast.

Unfortunately, I was extremely dizzy and threw up!! My equilibrium

was all off. I think they should have done it gradually--not suddenly

like they did!!!

I had trouble sitting up from a laying down position, so at first my

mom had to help me sit up, but later we figured out how putting a

chair at my bed, and me grabbing it just so, and then I could sit

myself up. That dumb cast (actually 3 of them) weighed 15 pounds!!!!

Almost 2 months after I had the surgery, I went to school--my senior

year of high school. I went every day. I didn't allow them to take

a " senior picture " of me for the yearbook--told them to use the

previous years' picture. My family took pictures of me, but I didn't

want anything in the school yearbook with my picture in the cast!!!

Oh, the trials and tribulations!! Good thing they learned as they

went on that people didn't need such extensive casting and bracing--

and they also changed the surgery. I guess the medical community does

learn something--but it sure seemed to take a long time!!!

Yeah, I imagine they didn't want to learn by causing harm to any of us.

Can't blame the docs for that.

Sweet pics! In the “ loves

baby brother” one, it looks like his brother is kind of worried about

something;-)

I really like the new feature of

groups where you can just scroll down to the bottom of each message to

find the links for the photos, links, message archives, etc. Handy;-)

Hi Carol,

It has been some time since we have chatted! We have 7 children and one

son-in-law now. was married over a year ago. No grandchildren

yet. was expecting this September but lost the baby. We were

all so disappointed. Krystle is living at home and attending college. I

will see if I can find a picture of the older girls to post. Caleb and

are 9 now. Caleb is doing great. He is a very busy boy and a real

chatter box! is doing so well now. She was so bull headed for a

while. I was not sure if I was going to make it through raising that

child but being consistent with her has paid off. will soon be

8. is not the wild man he used to be. He has settled down

considerably. is my terror now. She will be 4 in October but she

is in her terrible two stage developmentally and boy can she be

terrible! She is not as active as was but she has a HOT temper.

Her health is great now. I think she is just making up for lost time!

Her feeding tube is gone. She still does not take enough by mouth so

the doctor is keeping her on Pedia Sure for now. Benji is the sweetest

baby! He just melts right into our arms. He is so laid back and happy.

He was 9 months old on the 11th. I don't know if we will add to our

family again or not. told me I am nuts! I probably am! But we

feel very blessed. God has certainly provided what we have needed to

take care of these children so far. It is really interesting to see how

different each of them really are. Downs is certainly not a cookie

cutter diagnosis like some people still seem to think.

Post a picture of . She is such a pretty little girl. I have

not seen her for a long time.

Hi Christene, Yes, there are pictures of women in the photo files in the group . . . had classified our group as Adult because of the breast photos. Patty created the Shutterfly album so we would be more accessible to everyone. How are you doing? I have a tougher time keeping up with the posts

We have a folder in our photos section on the Saline Support website where we can share our family photos. Just forward your photos to me or one of the moderators, and we can post it. It's fun to see who we've been talking to!
