North Fulton Autism Support Group Meeting Date: Sunday October 17, 2010 Time: 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM Topic: How to Help Your Child With Social Skills and BullyingThis presentation will provide information regarding current research on social skills intervention for children with Autism and key components for a successful social skills program. Research and strategies for dealing with bullying will also be covered. Available community resources for social skills and bullying will be discussed. Speaker: Marla P. Mann, M.Ed. CCC-SLP Marla P. Mann, M.Ed. CCC-SLP, is a speech therapist and owner of Building Bridges Therapy in Cumming. After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Georgia and Master’s Degree at Georgia State University she began working in pediatric therapy clinics in the North Metro area before opening her own clinic in 2008. One of the focuses of Building Bridges Therapy is to conduct social skills groups in the North Fulton/South Forsyth area with real world opportunities to practice targeted skills in the community environment. These targeted skills have now been expanded to include strategies for dealing with bullying.
